Approaching TR and need to know about Favor...

Ok, I am fast approaching my first TR, finally got a toon who can even look at it. What I would like to know is about Favor and do you even worry about it after your first toon hits all the unlocks needed (up to FVS). Do you go through all you quests again on Elite to maximize Favor again or just cherry pick factions?

Get enough Cannith favor to load up on the Masterful Craftsmanship marks (if you plan on crafting). Silver Flame favor for the healing pots (if you plan on going melee). Yugoloth favor is nice for the Yugo pots. Make sure to talk to the Silver Flame rep to get an extra blessing token.

I would recommend running up to the free tome if you on't have at least all +2s. Also, you'll wind up wanting the full bank space once you start accumulating twink gear. Other than that, silver flame or canith if you need to refill on SF pots or masterfull crafts shards.

There's a couple really good guides for TR'ing. Personally, I want Coin Lord and House K for inventory space. House P for buffs are nice, as well as J. I always seem to run out of room before anything else though.

Re-read the OP, question was what to do before TRing, Coin Lord and House K bonuses reset (you lose them after TR)

I am asking about Post TR, meaning back to lvl 1 again... all factions wipe correct? Bank space, bag space all go poof when you TR. So I want to know about second life... do you work all factions working to the favor cap or just pick specific factions to Raise to get the bank and bag space (as examples).

On your second life you'll probably get more favor anyway, but yes, focusing on the bag favor is a priority, of course House K favor isn't available for a while. Yes, all favor resets to zero.

(I'm on life #11. I elite most everything, one and done, except for the few mega-exp quests which I will farm a bit. I don't worry about favor since I'm going to get it all anyway.)

As a note, perhaps obvious perhaps not, in relation to running up the Cannith and Silver Flame favor.

You will need to purchase the marks and potions you want BEFORE you TR. You can't TR and then buy the stuff you want on the following life until you gain the required favor again.

When you TR you have 0 favor. Anything you have already unlocked on the server (such as drow and FS) remain unlocked, but anything you unlocked on the character (such as a larger backpack or bank size) are lost. Any items you have unlocked (such as the house P pendant) you can still use if you have the item, but you can't buy/get more until you unlock them again (such as SF/yug pots).

As a suggestion get another SF healing token (I don't recall exactly what is it called) since that will end up in your TR account and you can use it immediately to get extra healing around town.

IMO, the single best favor reward to get prior to TR is Pendant of Time: 150 favor from House Phiarlan. Saves incredible amount of time in your second life! At least best for the effort involved, as you can get 150 House P favor without even trying. Just make sure you completed all of Splinterskull on Elite.

Things I care particularly about before TRing:

Favor:
Silver flame token - You'd be amazed how much nicer it is at low levels to get more HP/SP back from walking around. Much larger % of health than at high levels.
House P pendant
House Cannith marks - I did this once a few lives ago and picked up ~100 marks for future lives. This way I don't need to grind out the favor every life.
Yugoloth potions - Same as house C. Once every few lives so I don't need to re-earn favor.

Silver Flame pots are also important, but I don't have the packs to do so.


As far as in the new life, I don't tend to farm favor as one accumulates it fast enough by doing bravery bonuses. The only things I *might* farm for is house K favor since I tend to have lots of junk I quickly outlevel which I bank-pulled, combined with house K favor tends to come later than I'd like. Coin Lord favor is also important, but hey, one generally has that by finishing the harbor.

All factions wipe, yes, but any account-wide benefits you've unlocked (vet status, FvS, etc) stay unlocked. All faction-type rewards will be unavailable until you unlock them again, but items you get from those unlocks (Phiarlan Trinket of Time, for example) will remain in your TR cache, and are usable without the favour.

There are a few "must-have" favour rewards, as previously mentioned. Coin lords for bag space, House K for bank space, Twelve for Shroud flagging, but you'll get those as you level.

I like to get as much favour as I can every life, mostly for the free turbine points (I'm Premium.) Some people just do a few high-xp quests over and over as they level, and so don't end up with much favor at 20 as a result. It's really a matter of personal taste.

Pretty much seconding (or thirding) what others have said here. One thing I do before I TR (Saaluta is on 4th life now, and Saalutaball on 3rd) is to check total favor and if it is just a few points away from nearest 100 mark(20 or less) will go back and run a few quick quests on elite to get there for the extra 25 tp...may not seem like much, but every little bit helps :)

Go for all the favor you can stand to grind before you TR, and then again after. 25 TP for every 100 favor collected, and because all favor is wiped when you TR, you can gather all the TP again.

One other silver flame item not mentioned that you might want if you craft and plan to make a melee or ranged: Silver flame MARKS. Those are required to craft holy burst weapons.
