This has been bugging me for a while now. When I was a monk I could readily see my damage, it was some 2.5[1d6] + 40 or some such, it was right there in the inventory details.
But now, it's "(4-15) slash, magic, good", what is this??? It displays correctly when I'm unequipped as 1[d3] + 23 bludgeon, why can't I have that when I use weapons?
Is anyone else experiencing this? I got 2 monk PL if it's relevant.

It means you'll deal 4 damage to 15 damage per swing that bypasses slash, good and magic damage reduction. But I think you already knew that?

To see in that format you suggested, [examine] the weapon itself.

Yes I have this same issue with the weapon Details tab. And yes I would much prefer the damage numbers were displayed the old way.

Which was [Weapon Damage] + [Damage Modifier]. This made clear and simple sense.

And to answer Tyranda, no 4-15 damage is not correct.

The guy has equipped a +3 Great Axe and has 2 Monk Past Lifes. So even if he had a total of 10 Strength, he would have a Base Damage of 6 - 17, which is 1d12 + 5.

To have a total damage variable of 4-15 - he would have to have 6 Total Strength with a modifier of -2.

So thats the problem the OP is really complaining about - these numbers in brackets, (4-15) don't make any sense!
And they don't provide the user with any relevant information either.

I would very much like to see this fixed so that the Inventory Weapon Details tab once again displays clear and detailed information about base weapon damage and total damage modifiers.

well to be honest, what is shown is correct in a way... its just that the Inventory panel is only giving the bare minimum information.

Greataxe: 1-12 damage
+3 Greataxe: 4-15 damage

The issue was originally that monks did not have this information... they added a fix to list it for unarmed and then that screwed it from there.

I also miss the DC's being listed on Stunning blow, Improved sunder, Improved Trip ... the list is long of what they messed with to fixed for unarmed and in the attempt - took away from everyone using a weapon.

Except it doesn't show the +[w] bonuses you may have from buffs, nor does it show your damage bonus.

If I unequip the inventory will say [1d3] + 21 bludgeoning. That's saying how much damage I'm doing.
Can we at least have consistency here? Is knowing how much damage I deal per swing too much to ask for really?

Yea really annoying.

Every major update thats meant to improve things, far too frequently makes a lot of other things worse.

My panel says I deal 5-30 base damage. When in reality I deal 200-300+ base damage.

I stated it used to be the reverse... and many people asked for the information for monks unarmed be shown. When they did that it hid all other builds extra info for weapons (as unarmed monks prior had to deal with).

The same thing happened when they added in the extra DC hover info for stunning fist, all other tactical feat info for people holding weapons no longer displayed. It's been that way for months if not close to a year?

Is like they're missing an either/or... will it ever be fixed? Am sure if you report it to a GM they'll offer you this simple solution - I'm sorry but I can not help you with this issue at this time, suggested solution be reroll into an unarmed monk. ;)
