View Full Version : Concerning Wood Woads and Red musk "zombies".

While Lamannia was online, I was able to test my new build to great effect. However, I've noticed a glaring inconsistency between the vine horrors, and the two "new" (but mostly re-skinned) plant monsters:

The Vine horror's could be paralyzed by nerve toxin, and struck with otto's whistler, but the Red Musk Zombies and the Wood Woads were immune to both effects (paralysis doesn't seem to work on elementals, but the dance effect does. Undead are immune to both paralysis and otto's whistler).

That being said, is this intentional? Should Vine Horrors be immune as well, or should Wood Woads/Red Musks be as vulnerable as the Vine Horrors? ATM, it seems odd that spells/abilities would affect one monster of the same typing as the other two (who are immune).

If they are undead, I can't tell with my clonk. My burst doesn't touch them.

They are all plants. Try Horrid Wilting.

I can't trip them or stun them and that earthquake knocks me down a lot...

My barbarian isn't doing too well in the new content... :(

Note that I'm okay with that. Some monsters are more resistant to certain playstyles than others... I just need to adapt...

Has anyone taken a wizard thru the new quests? I'm curious if otto's sphere and mass hold work on the plant monsters. The one cc I have tried is a druid's eartquake, I've only done eh on the new quests so far but a 50dc earthquake knocked everything down easily on eh.

I've found that the trick to dealing with Earthquake is to spam your jump button. Every three seconds you get a recurring save, and when you make the save you'll stand up briefly during which time you need to leap away from the AOE otherwise you will stay on your butt until the spell duration ends.

I have not tried CCing anything in the new quests - except for the annoying orange named druids that cast snare and earthquake- I had a snare last for over 40 seconds on EH. I just wail, circle of death, PWK, FoD- they all work fine on the "zombies".

I've found the death effects of Double Rainbow to work just fine on the new mobs. Pin still works on the mobs if I can make them stand still for just long enough for me for the bolts to apply their effect.

As for the druids, they aren't any trouble for me (or my planned build, who simply stunned them with nerve venom and then finished off with either wild shots or a boulder throw).

CC does not work on the mobs in there. Instakill does just fine on everything except the Primal Wisps, with their crazy spell resistance... They're vulnerable to force damage though so it's all good ;)

I'm still waiting for the DDO version of the bards' green ear feat to fascinate plants. We have undead and constructs, and now vermin but still no plants. :(
