Well...

o.o

Been gone for quite some time...
What did I miss?
Should I get my sub back?

Huh? Where did I go?
Oh, uh... Well, you see...there was this game that had some promise but turned out to be "toilet food".
But then another one came along and I thought "Hey that has some promise!" ... *Flush*
Worked my way through FF14, SWTOR, TERA and the GW2 Beta.

So, yeah... What I miss after Artificer?

So, yeah... What I miss after Artificer?

So basically you missed update 13, 14 and 15.

Update 13 was the prologue to the Menace of the Underdark chain. There you have the story of discovering the tunnel to the Forgotten Realms with a heroic and epic mode of 3 quests.

Update 14 introduced the massive expansion of MoTU with 5 challenges, 12 quests and a raid and 4 massive explorer areas. King's Forest, Underdark, Sschindylryn & Demon Web. Introduced Epic Destinies, added Epic Feats, and generic levels up to 5.

Update 15 is the current content update (http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Release_Notes_Update_15_Official).

Ugh.. I think I just learned the definition of 'Stymied'.
I'm gonna need a new guild and everything..
That alone will take a month.
Then there's the standing around in the Marketplace, wondering what to do next and who's willing to go with..
Someone be my friend. ; ;

I'm on Sarlona, last I checked.
Play times, I don't know yet. Haven't been able to decide on coming back or not.
I mean; is it truly worth it?
I've got a bunch of 20's, some are TRed...
Am I gonna come back and find that even less people are in Amrath, Shroud is run (excuse me, I mean farmed) by level 25's only (anyone lower is just a newbstick), everyone's on their maxes in the new content and most of the old stuff is deserted and practically unplayable and now there's a new roulette of raids to do once every three days and then half the population logs off...
*Shudders* Tell me with the lights off...

The OP will appreciate your perfect assessment of the current game. You only left out the part about uncountable bugs and unaccountable support.

Maybe you shouldn't tell him, you don't want to scare him off..

The underdark. The Kings forest. Sschindlryn. Being eaten by a giant worm. Epic destinies. These things are awesome. You have missed them. You should try them.

If you are a glass half full kind of person, you will have fun. If you are not, you will see the bugs only. Either way, there is only one way to find out. This is why I have a premium account. I can be gone a long time, and come back without giving them another cent.

The advice i would give is to read up on ddo and the forums and make up your own mind :)

Depends on what you're looking for in the game. I have fun whenever I log in.
Amrath is as populated as I've seen it. aka: not really
On Khyber, there's a TON of LFM's up for all levels. Depends on what you want to do.
If you only do "end game" I can only guess it's no different than before. Epic (elites" & 3-day raid timers.

Pretty much nail-on-the-head, except a lot of the new stuff is also unplayable due to bugs.
I'd say try again in six months.

OP I just keep reading your title and just want to type the following.

"No."

without actually reading your OP.... carry on.

Edit (without an actual edit though... meta) ... I'm enjoying all the U13-15 content a lot. Dive in and come party!

You don't have to renew your sub to come back and find out if you still like the game. Just log on, find a group doing some content that you do have access to, and find out.

The forums are the last place I'd go to discover if I still like the game: many here are either so enthusiastic, they're on the forums from work, or here to complain or grind personal axes.
There are still bugs. If you regarded DDO as unplayable before, you will probably still regard it as unplayable. If you had fun with it, you will probably still have fun with it.

I can't speak for level 20 raiding on Sarlona, but there are still quite a few groups on the LFM for old content. Its not like WoW where almost everyone is max level and stops looking at old content when the new comes out.

OP:

Here's the straight no-nonsense answer to your question.

There is a ton of new content, and it's fun content for the most part. In True DDO fashion, there are bugs running rampant on the servers. The GM's are mostly useless to us, though not sure that's changed. A few quests don't complete, or can't be completed. The devs appear to operate in mostly-stealth mode and are avoiding 3rd rail issues (Cannith Challenge xp, major ED flaws, etc). The devs promised but failed to deliver on a particular change, thus bringing their integrity into question.

There're Epic Destinies, and despite there being some balance issues or classes they ignored/missed, they are very fun and a great new way to customize your character.

Raids like Shroud see a lot of variation in composition. Some run their lowbies while others run their capped toons for ingredients. A group of 25 curb-stomps Harry. Blades hurt, but not as bad as they have in the past.

A few things that are really nice: House C Quests. Very much yes. The MotU pack? Ehh... I would say overall worth it. Some bugs, but it's a good challenge and has good loot.

Epics have been changed to have Epic Casual - Epic Elite. Epic Hard is slightly easier than the old Epic version, and Epic Elite is ... well... difficult. Harder than the original epic. Epic normal is like a beefy version of elite. Full tokens are a rarity.

So, VIP sub? I wouldn't suggest it. I am a huge P2P person. A few things not worth your time: Druid, and both sets of Challenges. Use the free daily universal tokens if you need gear from the house C challenges.

Hope this helps.
