View Full Version : Sschindylryn rares - Where's the Draegloth?

I've found every rare in that area, except the "Draegloth Berserker" listed on DDOWiki. He is, according to that site, meant to spawn at the middle portal, but he has never done so in dozens of attempts, and occasionally the Magister rare is there instead.

I've gone through the whole area so many times but never even seen him appear. That's awfully rare. Has anyone seen this one?

I ran into it a couple nights ago... that is 1 in about 10 visits to the portal.

So that is where he appears? Statistics have foiled me yet again!

Thanks.

Is that the creepy four-legged creature? If so, he chased me around the middle portal in a rather amusing fashion just a few days ago, so DDOWiki would be correct and he does spawn there.

Fortunately he failed his reflex saves rather epically, so wasn't alive long enough for me to remember the exact name.

I haven't seen him since, in about 50 runs of Rusted Blades. So he definitely falls in the 'rare' category.

Saw it last night. Was probably my 15th time down there, and it was the first time he popped up. So yes, he's there, just a little shy.

You might miss one another if you don't run around the platform a bit. His exact spawn location might be where he won't notice you until you start moving in the correct direction. I've been off the platform only to have him appear on my return after exploring some.

It's a weird spawn on the central portal.

And I think it can be triggered by each person that ports in.

I know I was in a guild group and I zoned in and ran around there a little and didn't see it... then I headed for the quest. Another guildy then zoned in and started screaming about the Draegolith attacking him... so I ran back and there he was.

It was very difficult to get him to spawn when I soloed.

From experience the wiki doesn't have *all* the possible locations for rares on the map - it seems that some of them can pop in multiple locations - while others are static - this on in particular I've only seen at the portal - I believe it requires killing the drow priestesses if they are up as well

The Dreagloth will spawn ONLY if you kill the Wizards on the way to the central portal, and the ones around central portal... if there are any acolytes of lolth, he will not show up at all, however if all there is is acolytes instead of wizards (not both wizards and acolytes, if there are both, niether will show up), the magister has a chance of showing up instead.. all the Sschindylryn rares are static, they are always in the same spots every time, the Demonweb rares are static, though they have several spots that they can/will spawn.. The Underdark rares are mostly static (at least theo nes ive found) the only ones that are not however, are Kings Forest rares.. they are random... anything can spawn in any of the rare encounter ares, the only static is the dragon.. its always inthe same spot.. the rest... can be anywhere :P

Is that the difference? I knew it was mobs around the portal but couldn't recall exactly :)

Once while running rusted blades several times consecutively, upon exit of the quest we were greeted by the draegloth. This conflicts with your statement, as to me it seemed he spawned at house dun'robar entrance, with no prior events, kills, etc taking place. I am unwilling to agree that he only spawns at the portal at this time, based on what I experienced.

Ive killed him by the central portal but was from a character that doesnt port to the central portal when using the drow city teleport.
