I'm a VIP, so I clicked on every entry in the MM, and checked at the top of the screen which volume it was listed under. Here is everything in the MM so far:
Prologue
Animal: Rat
Monstrous Humanoid: Sahuagin
Player Races: Human
Undead: Skeleton
Vermin: Spider
Volume 1
Aberration: Rust Monster
Animal: Bat
Giant: Troll
Humanoid: Bugbear
Humanoid: Hobgoblin
Humanoid: Kobold
Humanoid: Troglodyte
Player Races: Halfling
Undead: Zombie
Vermin: Scorpion
Volume 2
Animal: Wolf
Elemental: Earth Elemental
Elemental: Mephit
Misc: Ooze
Monstrous Humanoid: Gargoyle
Monstrous Humanoid: Minotaur
Player Races: Elf
Player Races: Warforged
Undead: Ghoul
Undead: Wraith
I'll try to update this post as new volumes are released. I don't intend for this thread to become a "which monster of type X isn't correctly being counted", I know someone else already did that for the MM preview, and hopefully they will continue it as new volumes appear.

You should put this in the wiki. It still only has the prologue. http://ddowiki.com/page/Monster_Manual

Hah, between you posting and me seeing your post, someone already took care of it, along with links to the individual monster entries in the ddowiki. They were probably working on it for a while and just happened to upload their changes recently.

I didnt look when the servers came up this morning. Does it tell you what the rewards will be ahead of time, or do you have to unlock them first?

You have to kill at least one monster of a given type to know what any of the rewards will be. For instance, I have not yet killed a single rust monster, so I don't "know" that the final reward is a rust monster cosmetic pet.

Wondering what the devs were thinking when they put Troll in as the first {and only} Giant type creature.
Come on Devs - What about Ogres and Hill Giants?
Also Where are the Wights in Undead?

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but was wondering how this works in parties. Does everyone in the party get the kill counted in the MM or just the person that landed the killing blow?

Oh man, MM2 is $6 worth of Turbine points for 10 monsters. Lovely lovely lovely. And for whatever reason drow doesn't seem to count as elf.

Everyone. Tested yesterday. I entered Ataraxia in a party and headed to troll cave while someone else handled spider cave. I did not come within sight of a spider, yet when I checked MM, I already had Hellugut and Darkfang Spider entries.

I'm sure that what they're doing is letting the "good" monsters that people really want to see trickle out, and every volume of the MM is going to be a mixed bag. You'll never see the "Evil Outsiders Volume" because everyone would buy that, and then skip buying the "Natural Creatures Volume" which includes wolves, etc, because less people care about their exact stats. They'll put something you really want in every volume so that you have to buy them all.

It also breaks it out for you on one of the sub pages with a group and personal kill count. I'm tempted to see if I can max a monster having never personally killed a single one. :D

I'm thinking of buying volume two for only one reason. I'm a petaholic. Unless the certs are unbound. Which would rock.

Hey, everyone should strive for something! Some forumite decided to create a guild with nobody but his own alts, and get it to guild level 100. And actually did it.

"Petaholic"? You are addicted to number 10^15?
And what are "certs"?

Not PETA, pet aholic. And certs are pet certificates.

The first step is admitting you have 10^15 problems....
I'm really tempted to pay full price for the second manual. Can you really get 500 tp in rewards?

No, the piddling TP rewards are account deeds, not character deeds. I think the best you could do is 15TP x 10 entries = 150, but I haven't checked too closely.

Thank you for this, will be very helpful for building catagories for my online MonMan (I'm not VIP and havent yet bought v2 so i couldnt see what was in it). I'm still missing a few from U15, but hopefully I'll have them online by tomorrow evening. Hope it proves to be useful.

I noticed that under Kobold, for example, you get the first "Kill 20 types" thing and the next one is 80. Last time I checked wiki, there were only 37 kinds of kobolds... Am I missing something?

You aren't missing something; DDOwiki is missing alot though. There are many many many sub-types of Kobold not listed in the wiki. For example, there are about 5 generic Kobolds found in 3BC, but I believe Kobold Helmsman is the only one listed and others like Kobold Seawitch isn't. Also there are both Sentry and Kobold Sentry types, the wiki only shows Kobold Sentry. These are just a few examples.

I'm working on an online repository of all the monster entries. Link is in my sig, I should be adding it to the wiki soon.

That is simply beautiful. Should make things a lot easier for finding certain critters for sure. Thanks so much! :D
+1 for you!
