List the classes first, lvls, pre's. Then tell us on a scale of 1 to 10 why.

Radiant Servant 17/ Fighter 3 - My second character {made on the same day as the first} - Still my favourite of 40+ Characters still around.

Rogue Mech 15/ Arti 3 / Fighter 2 - Was Rogue 15/Fighter 2 Drow 2 wpn style - Aaaaargggh it hurt - Took Arti lvl 1 and the jump up in power was phenomenal - Took Arti Lvls 2 and 3 and things got better and better.
Of course would level up slightly differently on subsequent lives and am trying out other Arti/Rogue Mech builds too.

Ranger 11 / Radiant Servant 7/ Barb 2 - Made this character a year back rdy for Druid - Got him to 20 just as Druid came out - Surprisingly fun {Did surprisingly well in groups too} - In fact far more fun than the Lvl 4 Druid he currently is having TRd instantly - Wishing I'd kept him at 20 after seeing Druid on Live.

On the downside:

Arch Mage 14 / Rogue 3 - My first character - Still only Lvl 17 - Basically completely gimped - Will be TRing into an Arti for his second life.

Favoured Soul 16 / Fighter 4 - The Fighter levels were frontloaded - Was a pain getting him to Lvl 17.
Was surprisingly strong at Lvl 17+ though - So long as no-one asked me to main heal.
TRd into DoS Pally - What I was basically going for in the first place.

1 to 2 levels of rogue rest bard. 9 - take a support character and gives them even more support abilities.
1 to 2 levels of rogue rest ranger 7 - seems a natural fit for rogue and ranger to go together, gives a low dps melee character more utility.

these are the only multiclass I have tried.

The Good:

(10) Drow Bard Warchanter II 14 / Fighter 2 / Barbarian 2 - quite simply one of the funnest builds I've played.

(10) Elf Bard Spellsinger II 14 / Rogue 4 - working on this but so far has been great being able to heal + get traps, lacks in DPS though :(

(8) Dwarf Cleric Radiant Servant II 18 / Fighter 2 - free proficiencies for my very durable Dwarven hjealer.

(9) Human Paladin HotD II 14 / Fighter Stalwart I 6 - working on this but so far has been a blast.

The Bad:

(1) HOrc Paladin DoS I 6 / Cleric Radiant Servant II 14 - I thought it would work... I was wrong lol.

(2) Dwarf Rogue Acrobat II 14 / Fighter Stalwart I 6 - would have worked... if not for the u14 changes to AC, fails so hard now that I get beat on constantly. Will be deleted soon.

(1) Dwarf Cleric 14 / Fighter Stalwart I 6 - that's right a no PrC cleric... was fairly useless after calculating my DoS III could do his job but better, live and learn.

The good: 9
Rogue - Monk - Fighter for 2 levels great if you don't need a capstone (Weapons, Feats, UMD, Evasion ...)
Rogue - Fighter - Arti - Wiz/Sorc for 1 level great if you need the free stuff (Weapons, UMD, Feat, Enhancements ...)

The Inbetween: depending on what you are flavoring: 7
Arti, Fighter, Pali, for 6 levels for the Pre's

Random: But have the bad to go with it (less of something) : 5
Ranger 6,9,11 TWF/evasion
Cleric - FVs - Fighter- Pali - monk - Rogue 12 for Pre's

The really ugly: -9000
Splashing anything without thinking or planning

10: 18 arti/2 Monk/shadowdancer— GTHF w/ bastard sword & shield or rune-arm...good flanking DPS, so versatile & a lot of fun. Most enjoyable character I've played.

9: 12 tempest-II/7 ninjaspy-1/1 rogue — extremely fast swing rate, full trap skills & UMD

5: 20 Elf FvS/AA-III — technically not a multiclass, though included because it plays like one. This is my second character ever, before I learned how weak ranged combat was compared to melee or casting. This character got TRed immediately after fix of manyshot bug.

4: 12 kensei-II/7 ninjaspy-I/1 rogue — surprisingly feat constrained, not as good DPS as ranger variant (reliant on boosts), not enough skill points for UMD or trap skills. Wished I'd not TR'd ranger variant to this.

3: 13 Radiant Servant-II/7 Ninjaspy-I — I feel bad for some of the stupid builds I've done for this character. Tempest/Spy was best mix so far. It'll be TR'ed back to that after this life.

2: 14 frenzied berzerker/6 assassin — argh cleave doesn't work well with sneak attack. Not enough skill points. First character...eventually became artificer above.

Not really sure what the criteria for rating are, so I'll just list a few that I've tried out.

My multi-TR melee project:
-Life One: 12 Ftr 6 Mnk 2 Pal- Kensai/Ninja Spy. Great saves, great heal amp, decent damage (longswords), good up-close survivability. Probably will be the final build, but half-elf cleric dilly for better self-healing.
-Life Two: 12 Rgr 6 Mnk 2 Ftr- Tempest/Ninja Spy. Needed the fighter levels for feats. Damage on-par with first life, decent self-healing. Half elf with rogue dilly.
-Life Three: 14 Pal 6 Mnk- In progress at 10/6. HotD/Ninja Spy. Great self-healing, great saves. Not so great damage until cap.
-Next life: 13 Rog 6 Mnk 1 Ftr- (are you seeing a pattern here? I'm addicted to shadow fade :D ) we'll see!

Main character:
-12 Rgr 7 Rog 1 Ftr - Been through many, many lesser reincarnations, with various level changes. Always been built for balance; some ac, some saves, some damage (read: GIMPY) but has become a very decent character with the addition of epic levels and the AC changes. Now a sexy shoed goddess of war in Dreadnaught with some twists.

Acrobat:
-13 Rog 7 Bbn - Human. Meh. Decent damage output and good up-close survivability (~630 hp raged at cap) but required both a tag-along healer and a tag-along meat shield to be effective. TRed into:
-12 rog 8 Ftr - WF. Impressive at lower levels, now stuck at 16. Will come back to this after the enhancement revamp, see what can be salvaged.

I have a 20 paladin with a fighter past life that I'm thinking of TRing into an 18Ftr/2Pal, pure tank. Not looking forward to the levelling grind, though.

I may have to hold off on the actual grading for all of these at the moment. Just listing all the ones I've tried or consider to be 'obvious' archetypes.

Artificer:
18 Artificer, 2 Monk - haven't tried yet. MrCow seems to have used this for Arty life videos.
18 Artificer, 2 Rogue - less optimal than monk splash, but Artis get a fair few feats anyway. plus haste boost

Bard:
16 Bard, 2 Fighter, 2 Rogue
14 Bard, 6 Barbarian

Cleric:
19 Cleric, 1 Fighter - extra feat, martial + tower shield proficiency, haste boost, intimidate
19 Cleric, 1 Wizard - extra metamagic feat, 3 spells (master's touch, shield, hypnotise for -3 will save debuff or a utility spell), repair/stoneskin/blur/knock/invis wands, pseudo-umd caster level check allows for fireshield and displacement scrolls.
19 Cleric, 1 Artificer - trapskills, umd, repeaters, limited wand use such as stoneskin.
19 Cleric, 1 Barbarian - sprint boost, damage boost (for non humans) martial proficiency, intimidate, situational rage (works best as Dwarf)
18 Cleric, 2 Fighter - extra feat
18 Cleric, 2 Monk - feats, evasion, stances
18 Cleric, 2 Rogue - skills, evasion, haste boost
18 Cleric, 2 Paladin - saves, martial proficiency, intimidate
18 Cleric, 1 Wizard, 1 Monk - feats, Water stance
18 Cleric, 1 Fighter, 1 Wizard - same as 18/2 Fighter with more functionality/less ability to max Intimidate.
17 Cleric, 3 Monk - light path combos (mainly Aligning the Heavens)
17 Cleric, 2 Monk, 1 Fighter - melee oriented feats
17 Cleric, 2 Rogue, 1 Fighter - free to play
17 Cleric, 2 Monk, 1 Rogue - check out Valiance's build/achievement posts. Encountering this build in game is what brought me to the forums.

First I'd like to note most of my builds belong to various static groups or soloing so may be less than accepted in standard pugs/guilds but honestly I've have 1000x more fun with them than "accepted" builds

My 3 In order favs are:

Dwarf "Shadow Knight" True Neutral Wiz12/Fighter6/Rogue2

Dwarf - Con Bonus, Bonus Saves vs. Spells, Bonus to Balance, Armor Mastery, Free D-Axe Prof, Hopes of Dwarven defender in the future

Wizard - Displacement + Wraith Form, Buffs, No Save/SR AoEs and DoTs (Ice-Based), Self-Healing Aura

Fighter - Bonus HP/Threat/AC/PRR (More in SD Stance), Intimidate, Bonus Feats, Shield Prof, Haste Boost

Rogue - Evasion, UMD, Trap Skills, Balance

Overall a highly survivable tank with oodles of flavour although I don't think I could survive with this character if I didn't have my Razer Naga. Also extend is a MUST!!!

I'm very much looking forward to the Unyielding Sentinel for its focus on S&B combat and the blasphemy of having a Undead gain Paladin powers (Which is awesome cause I couldn't get my Wiz12/Paladin6/Rogue2 to work)

Human "D!ck Grayson" Lawful Neutral Rogue13/Monk6/Druid1

Human - Mainly for the extra feat and skill but the split stat boost and heal amp sealed the deal

Rogue - Bonus to staves attack speed, Extra Uncanny dodge uses, immune to knockdown, Dex to SA, 2 Rogue Feats (Opportunist and Improved Evasion), UMD, Trap Skills, 7d6 SA, Uncanny Dodge/IUD, Haste Boost

Monk - Adept of Wind, Flurry of Blows, Bonus feats, Movement Speed Increase, Dodge Boost, AC Bonus, Heal Amp, Shadow Fade, 1d6 SA

Druid - Ram's Might, Shillelagh (Long Strider is nice as well)

This build is focused on running around like a madman striking at unaware opponents and boasts the ability to survive this play style due to various defensive traits.

Oddly I think the best ED for this would be Legendary Dreadnaught simply for the mix of increase in survivability and damage output but of course there's a few Twists from GMoF (namely running with the wind +30% to run speed)

Half-Elf "Monkchersai" Monk12/Fighter7/Arty1

Half-Elf - Cleric Dilly (Swap to Rogue Dilly once UMD is sufficient), Heal Amp, Dual Stat boost, Access to AA (various stances to make archery awesome)

Monk - Evasion, Improved Evasion, Tier 3 Stances (Mainly Earth and Water), 10k Stars, Bonus Feats, Heal Amp, 2d6 SA, Shadow Fade, Dance of the Water Strider, Movement Speed Increase

Fighter - Bonus Feats, Haste Boost 3, Kensai 1, other minor bonuses

Arty - This one is basically just the least useless IMO 1 splash to gain a blue bar...lemme explain...to start Paladin and Ranger are out since they get so little sp, than there's Wizard, FvS, Sorc and Cleric which except for Wizard really don't bring anything to the build and I didn't really need the Wiz feat so that leaves Arty or bard both of which give me UMD and a Blue bar but Bards can't be Lawful so by process of elimination Arty sucks the least...also the +2 UMD to scrolls really helps and the lvl 1 doggy is a great box smasher. Also found some room for OL which is nice

This build is a great once it gets manyshot at 9 than gets AMAZING at 15 when it gets IPS but gets stuck in 3rd place since levels 1-8 are VERY slow...great candidate for Lvl 7 Vet Status. Also keeping you ki up is a little difficult since ranged monks are bugged to not gain ki but once you get used to it, this handicap is managable

ED wise Shiradi Champion is probably the best bet although I honestly haven't looked into it much for this build.

There's plenty of other builds but these three are the only ones I've played far enough to deem viable in most content (despite what some people will tell you)

For me:

1- arcane knight (12 sorc/6 pally/2 monk) so much fun and frikkin hard to kill
2 - emerald, ditto. But so powerful and resilient it's actually a bit too easy
3 - Axesinger, old skool awesomeness
4 - monster, fun fun DPS killing machine, but lacks varience in technique
5 - defender 2/ hotd1/ monk, good DPS, resilient but a bit lacking
6 - monk 7/ fighter 2/ rogue 11 (current mutant ninja acrobat w/whirlwind, surprisingly good!)

Exploiter - meh, powerful but really boring to play

No offense, but pure class comparisons ok, but multiclass? theres 1000s of possibilities, and im talking strong possibilities. Add into that that 95% of the players in the game cant pull off a lot of builds or playstyles and the results of any kind of poll are woefully inaccurate.

Heres an example, almost everyone in the game will tell you that the build im about to describe is a bad idea in every way, but its extremely strong and versatile in the hands of a player that is capable, so few people have experience with builds like this due to prejudice that it cant be compared accurately.

This is about as crazy and extreme as multiclass gets, but it works.

10fvs/10wis, fvs pre lvl 6, shield feats, focus on con and str, masters touch weapons. The basics of the build? great defense(physical, health, and self healing), all 3 dots and good aoe damage, high weapon damage.

With just unyielding sentinel you can get him over 1000 health with 10 epic dr
Mana is 2k + or - 400, i go low because i have all the mana pots i need.
+6 greater twilight med armor with a decent shield and other buffs and ac gets over 80, divine favor and prr gets over 30%(sentinel destiny helps there), think i got dodge around 10%, can cast displacement, self heal, 2nd best tank ability of all the characters ive played, you dont wanna know what build got 1st, not a standard melee i can assure you tho.

Spell level can be increased with for evocation easily(dots, firewall, etc) with gear up to max level in many cases.

Playstyle is everything, and depending on situation you adjust, trash mobs? Generally just melee, the aura and some no-save debuffs make a few special weapons a bit stronger.

Mobs that trip? switch to dr equipment and change to no trip sentinel stance.

Boss? Dot and aoe away, swing weapon between casts.

DPS? Very high, high enough so that so far only a savant against a mob weak vs their element can take the agro from him if i decide to prove a point.

Weaknesses? Yes, hard to play, you have to be well geared and plan ahead to get the most out of it. The main weakness tho is that so many just assume you dont know what your doing and treat you accordingly.

So how many people do you think have enough experience with this build to rate it?

How do you level this build up?

1 wiz, 1fs all the way?

Or 6 FS front loaded?

Or.......?

Can it be done on a 1st life?

How much {and what specific} gear do you need as you level up?
