What Would Drizzt Do?
I'm thinking this could be a viable DDO philosophy so I made this thread to ask for some help with fleshing this "philosophy" out.
Anyone and everyone is invited to add some tenets to the philosophy but I would ask you to provide a concrete example or two of it in an actual DDO situation be it during a raid, a regular quest, in the Trade channel, crafting, or a loot tenet. There could be countless opportunities for Drizzt to be put in a sticky or questionable situation so come up with one and tell us what you think Drizzt would do.
(this thread inspired by this thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=388290 )
drizzt pre or post the end of transitions trillogy/begining of neverwinter trillogy?
The perspective of our drow friend has changed enough that even Jarlaxle wants to slap him....
certain things wouldnt really matter... put drizzt in caught in the web.. and he'd slice his way through anything he could pre or post, but put him in say battle for evening star or the one in mystras temple *name eludes me right now* with all the collared slaves.... pre drizzt would help them get free even try to make sure they got out of the temple.... ost drizzt... carve up the drow and then help the slaves if he felt like it?
Just wondering which philosphy you'd like examples of :)

I'd rather try WWHD. "What Would Harry Do?"
Or maybe WWMD. "What Would Malicia Do?"

hmmm lets see..
Drizle is a drow ranger, with posibly a bit of lockpicking skills according to the literature and he dfinately trained with monks, the raven monastery i beleive.
In my mind that makes dritz a squishy, no ac, no hit points, low dps exploiter build according to the new rules we have.
Hes not even centered as he prefers to fight with scimitars.
Dritz is in fact a total gimp, hell hes in line with coyle and anna!
Scenario:
A warforge is hunting squiirels in the kings forest when sudenly he spies a drow with his pet panther. The warforge recognises the serious threat immediately and attacks the panther, safe in the knowledge that a drow exploiter is no real threat.
Conclusion: the warforge has nice new panther fur cloak, and dritz do freakin urden lies dead in a pool of his own vomit. The warforge sells dritz famous scimitars on the AH to pay for his repair pot habit as no clerics are healing him any more.
Later that week: an elf battle cleric, with her shiney new scimitar frostbrand decides to go shadow tanking. Unfortunatley there was a bug in the description and frostbrand gives fire absorb, not cold absorb - the raid wipes and the scimitar gets thrown in the junk pile.

Drizzt has never trained with monks. If your thinking about Cadderly and the spirits soaring monestary, they are all priests (sometimes called monks but not in the shaolin sense, more in the friar sense). Cadderly's wife IS a monk in the kung fu sense but shes never taught anyone save 1of her 3 children.
WWDD?
One thing to remember about Drizzt: hes heroic, hes brave but he is very niave. How many times has he been tricked by an evil man with a kind word? A kind man on a foolish quest? A beautiful woman who seems even slightly vulnerable?
Quests like Running with the devils, Cabal for one (the entire gianthold chain for that matter) or the lordsmarch quests, Drizzt would not know what side he should be fighting on and fall prey to anyone who can spin a good tale.
WWDD?
He would fight like a half elf, half demon and drop anyone in front of him. Though by battles end he may find that his only allies were in front of him and his enemies all behind. Should be fighter 10/ ranger 9/ barbarian 1 and he used wisdom as a dump stat.

I am pretty sure DDO is not set in Drizzt's Forgotten Realms. The different authors have different interpretations of events that often don't corroborate. The devs mentioned during a live beta event that they weren't sure of the time line of our Forgotten Realms.

Under what rock have you been living? DDO also now takes place in the Forgotten Realms.

Huh. I fail to see the difference. Do you perhaps mean The Sword Coast as opposed to Cormyr?

Well we should be in Drizzts time, it is after the Spell Plague which took place in the Transition series was it?
I think you mean we're in different parts of the Forgotton Realms.
