I was wondering in wolf or bear form how do i get improved crit as in wolf form you do both slasing and piercing damage and in bear form i do slashing and bludgeoning damage. Do i need to take all 3 improved crits? can i cheat and just take improved crit shashing as both forms do slashing? Or better yet... How about make Improved crit natural weapons?

animal forms fall under the bludgeon category for weapon feat like improved crit.

So if you are in bear form and have Improved Crit Bludgeon, then both your bludgeon and slash crit ranges expand? And if you have Improved Crit Slash instead, then neither expands?

This is how I understand it:

Fighting in animal form, you are fighting unarmed. Your unarmed attacks do certain types of damage depending on the form, which is mostly used to determine what type of DR a mob has against those attacks. But the weapon you use is "unarmed". The feat line for improving unarmed attacks is the "bludgeoning weapons" one. Taking improved critical: slashing, for example, will not help an unarmed combatant at all.

Yep, just confirmed it on the training dummy. Taking Improved Critical: Bludgeoning works for the expanding crit range on animals.
