For most raids there aren't too many items for rogues, but caught in the web has a quarter of its weapons made for rogues.

lots of untyped damage, and improved deception....great for rogues since they rely on SA and the untyped damage makes it so that the lack of DR breaking is insignificant.

A shortsword. The only class you will see consistently wielding shortswords in this game are rogues, also there is a lot of burst damage from effects so the weapon not breaking DR will, again, not matter so much.

this one is honestly the weakest for rogues, but the +6 bonus to saves, the +2 to skills, and the +4 to AC as well as +4% dodge make it an insane trapper weapon (for when you are really focusing on that).
So all in all this update has been very healthy for rogues. so I will say yay :)

I hate it.
Then again, I have a sneaking suspicion that my Rogue is in fact a gender-confused Barbarian...

I could be wrong but surely since Celestia is made from light and it's only damage type is light (instead of piercing/magic/etc) it should ignore DR (except Dr/- of course) completely? I haven't tested this so no clue for sure but would make it very interesting.

I love my rogue. I hate most of those weapons. They look like someone took to many blows to the head.
Agony, Keen? Really? REALLY?
Celestia, no magic as damage type, even if it's +7? Don't know of any DR/light, so it's not even breaking Invulnerability...
Balizarde, Parrying and Dodge... is my Rogue supposed to be the new tank?

Rogues? My WF paladin would be very happy to wield this baby. Assuming he ever makes it to level 23! Damned altoholism.

Too bad the knife hasn't DEX, STR for Attack and Damage mod. Too bad noone of them does actually.

Yeah, that would actually make them a lot more interesting.

Pretty sure the raid hates everyone without discrimination.

My dark monk wants to dual-wield the shortswords.
Since its damage isn't physical, it's supposed to ignore every physical DR.

yea, the celestia's light damage isnt supposed to be warded against by any type of dr unless it specifically goes away with light (like the shadow dancers cloak of shadows protection of 120 light/negative). Just like the flame blade (druid spell) bypasses all dr except fire resistance. so.. Its perfect for a rogue.
there are about 3-4 weapons that I would want (Needle (for my arti), celestia (for my rogue), Seriph (for my druid, currently lvl 13 tho), and twilight (for my cleric)... other then that the stuff just doesnt really seem all that worth it.

It's not just the raid from update 14 but all of it has really nice items for all types of classes/prestige enhancements.
It is a well balanced pack, you can clearly see a lot of work has been put into the items.
Sure, we all miss the epic slots on them but one must consider how power full they then would be.

Woot, now if only Fawngate could buy more bank space to hold all the neat new items.

The only DR that affects Celestia is Light resistance. There are about two enemies in the game that have that (krateos, drow necros with minions up). I'm sure someone will correct me and it's actually three enemies, but I think it's close enough.

Any Epic loot that doesn't at least offer some form of ATK/DMG mod from DEX (or INT) is really just another kick in the face to rogues frankly.

I wouldn't peg these weapons as "Rogue" weapons.
On the surface, they are; but realistically? No Rogue is going to want a sub-standard dagger with no DR-breaking capabilities. Most Rogues won't care about a rapier with insight AC - although the threat and damage is still fantastic, but really pretty much on par with drow weapons: great for trash, but not so great for red-nameds.
And the shortsword? Well, pretty much everyone will want it for the light damage - especially FVSs I'd imagine. So certainly not just a Rogue weapon.

Only one monster in the entire game actually:
Lord of Blades.
Crateos: Magic Immunity like Iron Golems have. It grants immunity to all spells that allow SR checks, and 50% Absorption to all types of energy damage. Also gets complete immunity to light damage on epic. No actual resistance.
Necros in U14: Their Minion Shield provides a percentile damage mitigation agianst ALL damage, its not a type of resistance or DR.
Several other enemies have forms of percentile energy or all damage absorption. None have a flat numeric light resistance aside from the LoB.
and yea if the short sword acts as energy damage, thus ignoring all DR, its kinda neat. Could be especially useful to favored souls who can render enemies more vulnerable to light damage.
And yea the rapier is the best dps 1handed weapon in the game, its a fair bit ahead of the previous known best (drow khopesh) plus rogues are automatically proficient. Far as breaking DR goes, a serious dps rogue would also be in the best dps destiny - Fury, which allows you to break DR/Cold Iron. Good and many other type scan be handled with artificer scrolls (especially on a rogue with good umd, scroll in mainhand, rapier in offhand to buff it)

I know that none of the U14 items are part of the epic crafting system, but would it really break the game to put a red slot on any of these?

That's a loot goddess question but as far as I know, slots are a thing of the past...i.e. old loot.

Contrary, Balizarde is a rogue's dream, 2.50[1d8] + 7 15-20 / x3 it be khopesh with wider threat in a pierce format requiring no feating. Any rogue (or for that matter any melee) would be crazy to pass up. It's among the highest gtwf DPS weapons in the game. Any gtwf rogue built for DPS will most likey outclass the other weapons from this raid with Balizarde.

I will second this.
Especially for Acrobats, since there is only one 2[xdx] metal-based quarterstaff that can be gotten in the game (yes, including randomly generated quarterstaves) and it's Epic Nat Gann.
