Epic quests and Favor!

Hi all there and Ty in advance for who want to help me with my doubt...
Both me and my gf used a stone of exp this life just to skip a tedious TR and we're both at 20 atm.
Now... since we used a stone we didn't touched at all some path like von etc.

We're looking to run all the new quests from MotU on epic normal first just to figure out how they works and to study a nice path to complete em.

We noticed that we need a certain number of favor with purple dragon knight to unlock a crafter who should be really useful even more cause we both want a greendragon vestment :)

The question is: when running a quest first time on epic normal do u obtain the favor as u complete it in heroic elite?
It would be cool cause in that case with a easy epic normal quest we could unlock the older favor-stuffs like more bank in house k and some of the new rewards.

I've looked for some info on ddowiki and on forum but since I'm in office I don't have a lot of time to waste searching and since I still didn't get any info I posted my doubt here wishing to someone who want to answer me :)

Could be delusional, but I'm pretty sure epic normal gives heroic normal faction.

I used the stone on my last life and completed Epic Normal The Snitch, which I hadn't done the previous life, and I remember only getting like 4 or 6 faction for it.

That was the only one I did before I TR'd though, just wanted to see how hard/easy it was before starting the grind back to 20.

epic no longer gives any special amount of favor, it is solely based on casual/normal/hard/elite. So, running Von3 on heroic hard gives the exact same amount of favor as epic hard. Unfortunately, this means that the PDK favor guy needs you to run every quest, including the raid, on elite, and get 6 total stars from challenges. Granted, you can drop the difficulty of 1 or 2 quests to hard, but then you need to make up the difference with more challenge stars. If you get every scrap of PDK favor available, you will only end up with 399, and since you need 375 to get the vendor, it is pretty far out of reach for most people.

Well I think we'll run em on heroic epic in that case so we could have the max favor available for the quest and then run the challenge at some lv lower to get the best star we could (maybe opening a pug for some experienced people :) )!
Seems those things we'll be harder than expected but I'm tru****l we can manage it :)

Epic Normal gives Heroic Normal favour unfortunately - For most quests you can just go back and do Heroic Elite for the Favour:

Phiarlan Carnival
Sentinels of Stormreach
VoN 1-4
Sands
Red Fens
Lords of Dust

But for certain Quests this could be an issue:

VoN 5 and 6
AdQ2
Servants of the Overlord and Spinner of Shadows - Much harder on Heroic Elite than on Epic Normal.
Most of Forgotten Realms

For Me - Epic should give bonus favour on top of Heroic - This might actually make Higher Favour tiers available:

Phiarlan isn't far off 400 as is
Kundarak and Deneith Ditto
Free Agents - 750 may become available with Epic Sands Favour
Silver Flame - Anything to make 400 Favour more available.

Nothing special for Epic Normal - Say an Extra 2 Favour / 4 for Epic Hard / 8 for Epic Elite - On top of Base Heroic Elite favour.
So Partycrashers for Example - Epic Normal would give 14 favour instead of 12 {Heroic Elite}, Epic Hard would give 16 and Epic Elite would give 20.

Now for certain quests like Servants of the Overlord that are high level anyway and hard enough on Heroic Elite that Epic Normal is the easier difficulty the bonus favour could be disabled for Epic Norm and applied upon Epic Hard completion - 4 For Epic Hard / 8 For Epic Elite.

Epic Raids should always give more favour than Heroic - No ifs or buts!

Seems Fair to me.

Slight necro, but it seemed like a good place to ask...

I did my first epic normal today - The Snitch - and noticed that my favour had dropped back to 4 - heroic normal level (what?!). Does this mean that I have lost favour by running this on epic (which makes no sense) or is this purely a display error, and I still retain the House P favour I earned before?

In short: can you actually lose House favour by running Epic Normals? And why doesn't it auto-set it to elite favour levels any more, when quests have been completed on a far harder difficulty?!

It used to do that but I think it should be fixed now. You might try logging out and back in to see if it doesn't re update.

I tried relogging, but it still said epic (in green) and only had 4 points on the favour. Hmm, if this was a prior bug, then maybe it has returned.
