No, everything but a few items that require multiple components (dragonscale armor, greensteel, alchemical weapons) can be farmed in as little as a day, removing one of the last things to grind and work for in the game when you get to end game would be just one more nail in the coffin of this game with it's new gimmie solution to loot.

And I don't have one. Epic hard von 6 is a joke. Increase the drop rate on epic elite? I'm all for that. Until you can not just "stand inside the fire" there's really no risk in running this quest.

Given the numbers of ESOS knocking about, it means although it isnt easy its definitely not a massive grind unless you are really unlucky

I have not run VoN6 since the update, but on preupdate epic it often dropped to the biggest slacker in the group- (I pulled at least 4). My advice- pike the dragon.

I have yet to see one in my name after ~300 runs across all characters. It's always in someone else's name that hasn't gotten it yet, or in someone else's name that wants to make another one, or I lose rolls for it. I have everything else to craft it on 3 characters, yet it appears I am cursed to never have one.

ESoS is still the main choice for THF and sources I trust on these forums say it still beats anything else in game. Lets not make it easy. You get bigger numbers, just less often, with an EAGA, so just go with one of those.

The question really is how do the shard drop rates on EH and EE compare to pre-u14 Epic drop rates? I can't remember if I have run an EE raid since u14, but the quests are noticably tougher and I have only seen drop rates resembling pre-u14 in EE quests. If drop rates are the same for EE as pre-u14, then raid Epic items just got a lot harder to make.

I would like to see a more definate way to aquire base items, I have the seal/shard/scroll for many rare Epic items, but can't make them due to missing the base item. The only way I have a chance is running the raid whenever I can for months on end just to get a chance of seeing it. We really need a barter box trading system for old Epic seal/shard/scroll for every pack.

Base items should either be semi-rare and unbound or common and account bound.

Your are a bit unlucky if you end up still needing the base item. That or you were really lucky pulling the Scroll/Seal/Shard.

Not sure if Turbine have told us exactly what they did with drop rates post 14. I would imagine EE slightly better. EH a bit worse and EN a lot worse.

I think ive averaged an ESOS Shard once every 40/50 runs

Not SoS, but things like Torc/Marilith Chain and Belt/Helm of the Mroranon. I had all the shards/seals/scrolls for those before the base items.

Not the SoS specifically, but maybe a slight bump to shard drop rates in general. I don't think I've seen more than one shard in an EH run, and many where none dropped. Or maybe I've just had terrible luck.

Not all THF builds can use that. Next best thing is lootgen from the expansion.
