View Full Version : PoP - 1st room bugged ?

Has anyone noticed problems with the first room inside Prison of the Planes? Went in there and did the lawful thingy .. xp awarded but then the door wont open for ages and you can't retrieve the orbs. Did same again on another run with same result. Ran quest again and another monk did the lawful room with the same result.

Had the same problem... Answered, got the XP, and waited for a long time. Re opened the room answered again and nothing.

Multiple runs, although I received the xp, never was able to "finish" that room. Even after you get the xp, you can hit the lever, pop out the orb and redo it. No additional xp, but that didn't "finish" it either.

Ya, gives XP but never finishes.

Have to pull the switch on the outside and reuse your first cell-can not collect the 2 after completion of the room.

I guess that qualifies as Broken... :p

Same ... It for sure is bugged then ... Thought for a second I was to dumb to suddenly do that room properly :-)

Seems to be another example of how Turbine managed to break something that was working just fine in the past.

Exact same problem in the first (Daanvi) room. Dolurrh room worked fine. Then Fernia (fire elemental) room bugged, just like the first room.

So, yeah, seventh'd. And nice to see this has been going on for nearly a month.

Got it too, just after U14...

Opened a Ticket.
Got the answer : not on the known issue list, make a bug report.
Made a bug report.

tried the first room 3 times...it never opened again nor were the orbs released.

I ran it again yesterday on my monk and unfortunately it is still not fixed.

I know it has always taken a long time to open back up once you answer the questions, but it shouldn't take more than a minute or two.

Admittedly I haven't done this quest in a few months, but are you guys waiting more than 5 minutes and it is still not opening on its own?

In the old days that room used to bug out if more than one person was in the room. They changed it so that wasn't the case anymore. Is it possible that it reverted back during an update/patch? Was there more than one person in the room?

was borked when one person was in when i ran it last week

We only had one person go in, a lawful one. Waited approx. 3 minutes for the door to open before we pulled the lever to get him out. Got the xp for the room, but couldn't get the two orbs.

I had the same problem in a group. Later, I soloed w/ hire on my monk just to see if they had waited long enough. I went in, answered, got the xp, then went afk for about half an hour. The door was still closed. Bugged.

The room has been bugged since U14, and been reported a time or fifty by now. Really annoying the times that the 2nd chest is flagged to appear in that room...thankfully that's really rare.

Also the left-side orb in the 2nd room is bugged.

Unfortunately, no. Known Issues are those they know about AND the cause of which they also know. Or so we were told.

Now if that's true, it leads me to say (in the style of Bill Cosby on Natural Childbirth): "Well, go get it!" :D

I've had this issue crop up on past three character lives. last life, it happened the first run through PoP, I got ticked and recalled, reset and ran it a second - it did NOT bug on the second time thru. This life, it bugged on me, I DDoored and came back and had the same results previous posters did: could open up but lost the extra orbs. Luckily, I had run it in reverse order (top to bottom), so all other rooms were done at that point and I could complete.

Not a pretty workaround, but a workaround all the same.

Yepp, its astonishing what great quality those bugs have. :eek:
I mean over 5 months and it still works (well, eh, you know, it works in that it doesnt work..) :cool:

We gets the XP for completing the room, and there's enough orbs in the other rooms to complete the quest.

it puts that bug in the low priority, low impact list, to be eventually solved... someday category.

Because it makes this quest harder/longer then it was intended?
Anyway its a bug and those should get fixed and not ignored!

Yes, because it is so far a bug that has zero impact on the quest.
You can bypass the room if you don't want to waste time.
You will get full optional XP even with the bugged room if you want to do all the rooms.
The quest is not broken by the bug.

There's more important and game breaking bugs to fix first. It's called prioritization.
This bug is not impacting, as such it gets a low ( even very low ) priority. They will eventually get to it... someday.
Thus the why bother.

If you had read the thread from the start you would have seen that I was the first to say that I had bug reported it.

I don't have verification on this but i think this was intended as it slows quest progression and forces the party to do more. It may not be well known but before when the room worked many of the Zerg folk where completing pop in under 5mins and now it takes about 8-10mins. Unless your a arty or druid you cant solo that room and catch up some one has to let you out.
