I have a 12bard/6ftr/2rog twf khopesh build and I'm trying to figure out what the best light armor would be at endgame for my build. Highest AC and max dex bonus would be nice. If you know of any good ones, please list so I can check them out. Thanks a bunch.

Depending on how much DEX and dodge you need . . . but Breastplate of Destruction has an armor bonus of 23 right now before any SD/DoS modifiers.

I'm having a really hard time giving up the Duelist Leathers, and mine are only Tier 1. I'm strongly considering taking the Mobility Feat at lvl 24 for the MDB boost and dodge bonus, to help ease the pain of taking on different armor. I think I can get to max dodge without the Leathers, so I'd like to find something with possibly better AC and some non-MDB/dodge effects on it eventually...but getting a MDB of at least 25 is a must have for me at this point.

The wiki description says medium but I'm assuming it has been changed since the update to light armor? I wonder if any of the enhancements on it have changed? It is a nice piece of armor. There should be something better at end game though, you would think.

Ya, I was looking through my TR inventory the other day and noticed the huge difference in AC boosted from this. It was giving me +26 AC and this is at lvl5 (of course I can't equip it, just mean what it said on it). I most likely will be wearing it for lvls 14-20. I was hoping to find something better for endgame but ya, its pretty nice. Thanks a lot guys. If anyone else can think of some other good ones, let me know.

I used to wear an Epic Rakshasa Hide, but with the new armor changes, that armor ended up in my bank.

I recently got a +6 Celestial Chainmail of Stability +6. It gives me normal +34 AC. And applying The stability it has, it grants +40 AC. I also added the stone of change ritual, so +41 AC. :p

It's a real shame now that dragontouched and other formerly useful named armors don't cut it anymore... They need an upgrade. These new items have very nice effects, and some are vastly superior than named items we spent hours grinding to get them.

My 16B/2R/2F WC bard loves the Parasitic Breastplate with reflex saves slotted. It makes evasion far more useful even if the AC is pretty sad.

Parasitic Breastplate was ALMOST as good as any armor available before Xpac...now, it sits in my bank (Replaced by some random Lootgen armor). I upgraded it with Displacement Guard before update. Oh well, maybe it will get some love in a future update.

I'm on Argo. I've run the new stuff a lot, especially with my monk but wasn't even thinking about light armor till I just TRed the guy I was talking about in this post so I wasn't really looking at the light armor drops except for crafting and selling purposes. I'll have to start looking at them more closely now. Thanks for your replies.

Parasitic doesn't look too great to me.

Im still stuck in this and im lvl 25, Hide of goristro will not drop, & i cannot be bothered farming blackscales. It isnt actually that bad, unless you have an insane DEX it has the highest Light Armor AC, and the +10 ref saves combine perfectly with evasion.

New cormyrian Redscale is the endgoal for my evasion toon

Answer = Hotswaps. Most armors mentioned in this thread our good situationaly.

If your looking for a good all around armor that you can just put on and leave on, Then your just limiting yourself.

Me I would prefer to wear Parasitic to get through the trap, Epic Utility Vest to disable it. And Hide of Goristo (or whatever its called) to go destroy that next mob on the other side of the trap. But thats me, you might not want to go through all that trouble

I've been wondering if there are any good Light Armor slots for an Insightful Reflexes build. I did not know that Marilith Chain had been updated to become Light Armor...however I'm unlikely to try farming one out.

On my evasion/tactics tank, im using the goristro hide, mainly for the +10 trip which is great with improved trip. AC is a bit on the low side with 80 (unbuffed, power attack on), but its still decent damage mitigation in raids like ToD. For heavy tanking duty where evasion isnt needed, I can swap to PDK armor. If I didnt have trip on my hotbar, I probably wouldnt use it.

Ergo many Rangers,Rogues and Bards will be traipsing across the Desert for a meeting with a Demon Queen.

The Goristro armour is also excellent if you have a high seeker item elsewhere

However one of Shades posts recently listed all the differences. Its actually a bit of Nerf for those folks that used it as a medium armour.

But the most important bits are the same ie +10 Seeker , the guards and one of the best features which many dont know is that E Mari Chain does not give any penalties to any skills whatsoever

Brigadine is Medium armor not light, even post U14...nice armor, but parasitic offers higher AC and the same slotting mechanism.

For me, my light armor wearing evasion fighter has to be able to max out Dodge. By going light armor, you're already giving up a lot of AC and PRR, so Dodge becomes pretty important.

Slotting in Lithe (tier II ability) from Shadowdancer helps a lot, since that adds +6 to the MDB.

For now, I'm sticking with the Epic Duelist Leathers because it allows me to max out Dodge at 25% (it has a 22 MDB even without Lithe slotted)

On my pure Bard 19 I liked Fleshshaper's Brigandine (Negative Energy Absorption 20%, stacking Healing Amp 10%, Disintegration Guard, +10 Reflex upgrade) so much, that I expended a feat on it. He now has Medium Armor Proficiency.

Since the original request you responded to was for CURRENT, POST-U14 statistics on the item, I have no idea why you are arguing. In fact, if info on the new stuff was supplied in this thread, I might just go update the wiki myself.

Yes, I looked at the link, and found it to be completely unhelpful, because it is the OLD, OUTDATED, PRE-U14 information. I'm not sure why you provided a link to old, outdated information when the entire conversation was that an item was changed in U14 and that the wiki wasn't updated yet and new information was required.

I have to agree with you on the dodge bonus being important and getting the Epic Duelist Leathers is pretty easy, when the event is going on, not sure when that is going to happen again. I would def like to have a set of those to hold me over till I can get a set of Goristro. Wish it had an empty blue slot instead of toughness but I could rework my gear around it I suppose. I will def be trying to get one of these with stunning +10. I believe I've found the armor I will be grinding for. I notice the description says btc on equip so I assume it is unbound initially? If so, I could farm with my monk for this. That would be awesome. Also, do insightful bonuses stack like exceptional bonuses do? Thanks for all the replies guys.

I thought U14 changed two things there.

I thought all expectational got turned into insight, and only the highest value applies. Not certain if the later is a bug or not. I haven't seen a dev response that I can think of.

Exceptionals stack... but there are no longer any exceptional +2s out there (they were all changed to insight +2), but +1 exceptionals still exist

Insights do not stack... If you have +2 Insight and +3 Insight for same stat, you only get +3.

And of course exceptional and insight stack with each other.

It's not as great as I had hoped, but Epic Kundarak Delving Suit is +15 Armor, 13 Max Dex. Seems like it's right up there as far as straight armor bonus goes, with a blue & colorless slot.

If not: Look up any of the items you actually have in those databases. Now look them up in the game. Realize there is a difference. Read the other posts again. Consider vasectomy.

I don't know of anyone that has actually gotten yellow dopant. Hopefully that is one of the fixes with today's update.

Your thread calls for light armors, but some of the ones included are medium armors, so I'm posting a link to the Full Plate of the Defender.

It's by far the highest AC you can get for a medium armor. I have yet to see higher AC drop for heavy armor, actually, but I must imagine they do.

With max dex it has a 31ac, +3 Rough Hide, and another +4 from Hightened Awareness, for a total of 38ac. That's better then some heavy armors.

It's pretty hard to beat Rakshasha hide if you have a high dex. Even some of the better medium armors are only a point or so better, and you give up evasion if you have it.

I wouldn't add up enchantments as Heightened Awareness when choosing my armor. That is because I could use a bracer with Superior Parrying, for instance, granting +4 insight bonus to both AC and saves. Even if I wear something with HA +4 I'd still wear the bracer for +4 saves, so...

Now... a Mithral Celestial Scalemail would be amazing, but as far as I know there are no mithral randomgen armors following the new armors tier... is that WAI? Did anyone hear about them being reintroduced somewhere in the future?

It's still solid armor for a while, especially with the available upgrades and with the symbiont. I wore it on my main's rogue life from 14 on, but I TR'd at 22 and I don't think it would've cut it past that.

It'd be nice to see an epic version sometime.

you want hide of the gore stunning 10. It's the reason why stunning blow which exponentially jacks up your dmg can be used. Also gives a nice stat and melee alacrity and toughness.

But mainly the stunning 10 is the cake. However if you have sold your soul and found a dunrobar stun 10 ring then idk maybe fire dragon armor or DT, or probably something that's coming from EGH.

Oh and for quite a few posts unless it hasn't quite clicked in there. The reason for stating light armor is the reason why im supposing their are 2 rog in that mix. Evasion, which sadly does only work with light or bathrobe armor. Or leather chaps (docents)
