Background story:

Cleric 20/Epic 4 - Wanted to remove the Extend Spell feat to grab Epic Mental Toughness instead (yes, I have Improved Mental Toughness for that Epic feat requirement). Go to Fred in House J. Not working. Epic Mental Toughness is not in my allowed choice of feat swap. Bah... I'll just Lesser TR then and fix this the hard way.

After finishing the setup of everything - it is time to grab my Epic Destiny to continue where I left 30 mins ago. It turns out that all my XP earned in Epic Destinies is gone... all XP earned in my Epic Destinies are at [censored] zero!!!

Read: My capped Exalted Angel destiny is at zero XP and my Unyielding Sentinel that I was into at Rank 4 is at zero XP too!!!

Right now I am still Cleric 20 / Epic 4 except that I have lost everything in Epic Destinies XP after this Lesser TR.

Great... :mad:

P.S. I am also unable to contact a GM in-game.

I'm guessing you took extend at a much lower level than 21, you'll only be able to exchange it for another feat you were eligible for at that level.

Yep - I figured that out myself. This is why I went in DDO store and purchase a Lesser Heart of Wood to respec my Cleric.

The last thing I was expecting is losing all XP in my Epic Destinies in the process... :mad::mad:

I did exactly that: Went to the Fatespinner in the Marketplace.

And I am currently reading at the bottom of my screen:

Exalted Angel - Level 0 (Rank 1) - 0/36,000

That Epic Destiny was capped 40 mins ago... *sigh*

Same happened to me. I lost ED and now I can't flag for some raids (lob, ma) and new quests (taking infinite lvl 1 rewards at impossible demands and the others 2) and can't take abbot reward (so can't run anymore it). I can't put ticket, I reported bug on forum but no1 answered me. still waiting an answer :(

now have a toll free phone# it can be located in my sig!

I would let some time pass, calm down & then call them & be polite & informative

It is the 1st time since I play this game that I have to get a GM.

You simply have to hit ESC key then select "Help" ? I have a window that opens but it stays empty... Great...

P.S. I am VIP since Sept. 2010

A GM will not be able to assist with something like this as far as I know. You'll want to submit a ticket or call them directly using the number given earlier.

Also that window is bugged out like that for everyone.

When I did this post-LR on my Monk AA (who has 6 Rgr levels), I'm pretty sure I lost the +1CL to Ranger spells [Edit: from Shiradi Champion). I'm sure it upped Ram's Might to 7 min pre-LR, but post-LR and destiny claim, it is back down to 6 min. I must remember to bug it next time I'm logged in.

Ugh, that sucks. I have been thinking of lr'ing my 20/3 cleric as well, but think I'll hold off for now. Thanks for the heads up.

Btw, please update if you get this resolved. I'm afraid to do anything feat related right now for fear I'll end up totally hosed and be more or less forced to just tr instead...

I feel for you, and losing all that XP sucks badly, but threats will not make anyone do stuff faster, especially if they have a reputation for not caring.

My advice is to call the phone number again and not get off the phone till someone helps, if the first operator can't help ask to be passed up to someone higher up the chain. That said the in game help is bugged for toons with epic levels and is a known bug. Not that it matters as all you'd get out of in game support is "This is not a known issue please submit a bug report on the forums" and the ticket closed.

As for the threats of canceling and uninstalling it really doesn't help you, it just makes them want to help you even less. We understand your frustration but I'm going to cancel threats and posts of vip benefits really don't accomplish anything that will help you.

Does turbines cs suck yup, but ranting and raving won't help.

Edit: I'd get rid of the pic that shows the last four of your credit card it's exp date and that it's a visa, someone could use this against you as you only have 8 digits that are actually unknown now.

I'm betting that they do care if people leave the game because of the bugs. If they don't care and demonstrate that enough, that is the death of this game. So I hope that you are wrong.

For my part I'm talking about turbine, and here's my thoughts:
Turbine cares that they make money, if he leaves and they loose money they care about that.

However

Customer support is not accounting, customer support employee's everywhere and I mean every single last one of them that I have ever met or talked to are overworked, underpaid, and get to deal with peoples nerd rage every minute of every hour they work. (slight exageration there as you do get a very few decent people looking for help) Customer service, doesn't care if you leave the game, doesn't care if you threaten to leave the game, doesn't care if you throw your computer out the window, and some of them won't even care if you commit suicide from your nerd rage, some would cheer this on.

If you want help from cs, you need to take a deep breath, be civil, and hope the last person they talked to didn't just royally tick them off.

Just in case you didn't know, you get a free LR for every character now.

I understand your frustration, we've all been there. I think your best course of action would be to
roll a druid or play an alt until they fix your cleric. There's no question Turbine is busy right now, so
there's no way to tell when they will be able to fix it.

All right. I am back with more information for this thread.

A couple of minutes ago I logged on my LVL16 Artificer named Carlaz (a simple Hagglebot/Craftbot (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=4034064)) and I saw that I was able to hit ESC (to open the Main Menu) and hit the Help button to open a ticket for a chance to have a chat with an online GM. (Because the Help menu is totally not working on my LVL24 Cleric with the problem - I won't comment on this bug here...).

Now the important part is here:

Because a GM can give XP on the spot to a live toon. My friend (real life friend + guild buddy) had a broken 1st life LVL16 FVS that got fixed by this very method 2 months ago. Not only did it fixed his toon but he managed to get a FREE FVS past life in the process and the GM gave him enough XP to be at LVL16 again. This story is extremely true and not a fairytale.

Now the other possibility... That GM simply had no idea that he/she was able to do that. :mad:

Another possibility, the other gm was not suppossed to do what they did, and has possibly even been fired for doing so. Just saying other things are possible. I'd really try the phone number again rather than in game support, I've never heard of a problem being solved by the in game support.

The thing is Im a completionist. have all ED to lvl 5. And i sure hell dont want to kill the toon over this.

Short version of the problem:

Lost all XP in Epic Destinies after a Lesser TR. The "Main" XP is still there. I am still Cleric 20 / Epic 4 except that all the XP in my Epic Destinies "trees" got erased.

So my question is:
Do you think there is hope for me to get back the erased XP in my Epic Destinies ?

I am VIP since the very first minute I installed this great game (September 2010) but I will have to unfortunately quit due to this situation. :(

I've been talking to one of our bug guys who's been digging hard into this issue, and he tells me that many of the (relatively small number of) people who have experienced this can fix it by clicking around on their other Epic Destinies. They don't need to be active destinies. So, if you would, please click around in your epic panel on some of the other Epic Destinies and let me know if that does anything.

One other question as well: In your post, it appears that you are a pure-classed cleric. This bug seems to have in all other cases involved heavy multi-classed builds (say, three classes of at least six levels each.) By any chance was your cleric ever triple-classed?

To that here is my reply I sent 5 minutes ago:

First of all I would like to thank you for the reply. This is very much appreciated. I am so happy in fact to have received your reply that I will not cancel my VIP subscription. :D

Now to the issue...

My Cleric has never been multi-classed. But here is some extra information that might help people who are working on this bug:

On July 14 I used the Free Lesser TR given to everyone during Update 14 (June 25) to respec my Cleric. When I went to the Fatespinner in the Marketplace I was able to continue exactly were I left off in my Epic Destiny with absolutely no problem at all. Everything was perfect.

It was during my 2nd Lesser TR on July 21 that the problem occurred. I was very surprised because everything was perfect when I did a Lesser TR a week prior to that on the same toon.

Maybe the problem is there actually. On the subsequent Lesser TR after the first?

I lesser reincarnate one of my multi-TR'd characters with epic destinies without a problem. However, I have not lesser reincarnated multiple times like the OP.

Nah, don't do it. Why risk it when you already have everything?
Unless you are not satisfied with the everything?

The worst thing that could happen is you have to regain 18 million epic XP again...

I've also been told that the ingame support window will only work if your character is level 20 or less. So if there is a bug, it was advised to log in the lower level character submit the bug or ticket for the higher level character.

That is something they ought to do an IMMEDIATE hotfix on. Bugs happen, but when you cannot report them in-game, have to log out or alt-tab out, find out how to do it on the forums or website and take all that extra time, well, it just frustrates people and makes them not want to report bugs at all.

If anything is really causing players to leave the game right now I think it is this single issue. It has consequences that reverberate beyond the bug itself.

Also really glad to see Turbine is really doing something for you and a small amount of players experiencing the bug,

sometimes we may feel nothing's happen because it doesn't happen NOW. But with time most things get better anyways^^

One thing that worked really well for me already twice (not this game but real life)
1. Get the names of the supervisory board or management board executives (WB is publicly listed)
2. Check if you can get some of their private emails from university alumni books (maybe even your university if you are lucky)
3. Write a nice email with names
4. Wreck a few careers (Big bosses hate those emails)
5. Improve customer service

Nothing improves customer service like wrecking careers.

i tried to submit an in game bug, but the bug report is bugged (which is really hilarious), so i put in a ticket to a GM, who apparently had no idea that the bug report is itself bugged.

seriously, what is going on over there. this game is a TRAIN WRECK post u14, and it wasnt exactly all working right before.

I've also lost all ED exp and favor. I clicked around on the destinies like suggested and it didn't do a thing, says I have zero xp. This was my second LR of the free ones they offered, must be part of it.

Same thing happened to me. LR'd. NO destiny XP so i filed a ticket. GM didn't even contact me to tell he couldn't help me, just enclosed a canned response in the ticket and closed it. I had to go track the ticket to find out it was closed. I filed a bug report, hopefully it will be resolved by tomorrow night.

I used my free LR two days ago on my 20/5 cleric who has completed three destinies. I changed feats and abilities and had NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.

Don't know if that is luck or what, but I had no issues.

Also, you ever observe someone breaking the speed limit, driving recklessly or cutting you off, don't call the cops. Write an e-mail to the current president. This NSA and CIA will be involved. Nothing cures bad drivers of their habits like being investigated by national security. True story.

I don't know if it will help, but for U14, the developers took notice of the "list of broken things" thread and actually gave some decent answers. If this bug is around, it is very serious & needs to be brought to Turbine's attention, which does seem to wander.

well just lost 48 epic destiny levels cause of the tr, over 10 million xp gone, in game gm can't do anything, bug reports hasnt done any thing.

guess it take to take a long ddo break

Cannot believe there's been no dev response to this at all. The apparent randomness of this bug is scary - some people have had no problem, others lose all epic xp and destiny progress. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to it; yous rolls the dice and yous takes your chances. Lammania should be open 24x7 right now with someone giving out free XP and destinies for the sole purpose of having people LR just to see if they can discover what's causing this.

nothing fixed, and i really doubt it will be retro fixed.

47 destiny levels gone, so much 10 mil+ xp gone foreverzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It would be greatly appreciated if Turbine would at least acknowledge the issue and post a warning on the login page about LRs.

That they are purposefully dodging the issue without offering any sort of recompense for the victims of this bug is a perfect demonstration of where their priorities lie. It's really disheartening.

alot of these crazy LR issues have popped up when turbine introduced that free LR. In fact there was a bug that wouldnt effect the other LR's, just the free one.

Here are the stages to this wipe of epic destines, lets see if I am missing any. The customer service is designed to give you the run around as much as possible.

Stage one: They deny it exists and make you do a bug report so you do a bug report. (doesn't matter if anyone else bugged it, they won't talk until YOU bug it as well)

Stage two: You do ingame request for help again and now they talk to you but say to submit a ticket on the support site for account/store. You do this and wait and the ticket gets closed without you being told.

Stage three: Call turbine, talk to someone about your submitted ticket and they tell you they can't handle it, ingame actually handles it.

Stage four: You do another ingame detailing this information, they say sorry please wait 2-4 buisness days for response.

Stage five: After 4 days you have to contact them, AGAIN, to get someone to respond. You get a senior GM, they say they can't help all your destiny xp is gone, here is a TR heart good day.

And that is the solution they are giving now. Its a horrible slap in the face. Reality is it is just time lost, which is important to us the players, but not to them. They've had vanity pets, tomes, stuff people have purchases with money dissappear. That might be class actionable if enough people get together so maybe that is the focus.

if im reading the forum right you didn't only loose your ed xp. check your favor. some complained that they lost all their favor along with their epic destinies.

on a side note, and make this one known:
the report a bug\help panel that we used to use before going epic with the menu panel is not there anymore... BUT IT IS AVAILABLE!!!
there is a key mapped to it. default seem to be ctal+h... your welcome

No disrespect, but from that post you sound like someone who sits around angry with their thumb up the you know where when they get screwed by a company. A lot of the times the people in support are just not well trained, sometimes and employee doesn't know how to fix the problem and sometimes they can't, however a good employee will usually transfer you to someone that can actually help, while another one will just deny there is anything he can do or will just keep redirecting you in circles and making you waste time to get you off their back. I will like to note that a lot of the times their superiors do not want to deal with a costumer and will usually tell the employee to say that hes unavailable.

The people in the phone don't really give a **** about the account if you just quit and never come back, I know I didn't when people threatened me, and neither did any of the employees when I was working in support for a fortune 500 company, but they sure will when you actually hold them accountable for their incompetence, getting the employees, supervisors etc.. name, and letting their superiors and their superiors superiors know about it, go file a complaint on the BB website, call Corporate, post it here etc.. people like that make companies eventually improve their costumer support.

Assuming someone on the Turbine team has been reading this thread, what I'd really like to know from one of them is, what would be considered "proof" that we had the Destinies/XP/Completions we claim, should we have any of the problems described so far? Are screenshots enough? Is ANYTHING enough?

The thing that is so disheartening about this is the knowledge that, if this bug were GIVING players something unintended, Kruz and Fred would be shut down immediately until a hotfix could be applied.

"Beneficial to small portion of player base = immediate action to resolve", "Detrimental to some portion of player base = yeah, right... whiny forum elitists complaining again".

Sorry, but that's how it appears that things work in this game.

You don't need to prove anything, because if a company is receptive to information and does their best to help you everyone in the end benefits. They are obviously operating under a different guise and changes are necessary. That kinda of culture comes from the top n down after.

I'd be willing to bet there are some turbine employees who feel like they are being thrown to the wolves by upper management are are simply overwhelmed. Hopefully they will get around to this sooner than later.

I just reached level 20 again after a True Reincarnation, all epic destiny levels are gone :/

For the record: I am the OP of this thread and I have never been given back lost XP in Epic Destinies. I had to work to get back to where I was. Of course... Being a Cleric helps since you can always find a group who needs you :D

Were you able to see your ED levels at any point from levels 1-19? Did the xp disappear at level 20 or was it never there after TRing?

You can't open your ED window until you're level 20 and talk to a Fatespinner.

Carpone LRed twice and then TRed. I rather suspect the LRing before the TR is what did it.

Hi,

I don't think that's true for everyone. I'm pretty sure I have been able to do it standing on Korthos Beach right after TRing.

It's probably the difference between VIP and premium accounts, which is particularly unfortunate in this case. Having the bug hidden by an interface issue like this for however long it takes you to get back to 20 is no good at all.
