View Full Version : Good things about MotU

There've been a lot of negative threads of late. Some justified, others not so much, in my view. I just thought maybe a bit of fanboy love for some things we've got and enjoyed from the expansion pack might be nice. (I'm putting aside bug irritation for an evening.)

My list of things I've loved;

The new random encounter tech.
The storylines from the messages from Elminster, etc. A really nice way to get story across through voice, not text (that I often am guilty of skipping over in quests)
The size of the King's Forest. The first truly magnificent feeling area since the Desert, imo, and it's made running my Monk AA a bundle of fun.
Epic Destinies - oodles of new customisation options for my previously capped and neglected too-big stable of alts.
Difficulty changes - along with the EDs above, it now feels like there's much less pressure to minmax for effectiveness. This is a great thing, and means I can do things like Twist in for fun, or run an ED that doesn't make much sense at first glance but doesn't leave me too gimped to run most of the content.
The graphics in FR. Just, wow. Keep up the good work, art department.
The Priestess tech. Unlearning the years-embedded KILLCASTERFIRST method has been fun.
Easy to access gear to get people new to L20 content up to speed. This was a much needed and great gesture.
I'm sure there's more I can't think of right now. Moans aside - there's plenty of that about (from me too, not criticising!) - what have you enjoyed about the expansion?

Not much I can add to that list;

Underdark Explorer. This one feels far larger then The Forest to me.
I have enjoyed the first 10 levels of Druid. The rest - we will see.

I do look forward to;

The Raid.
More Eveningstar content.
