Since "epic" no longer means epic, why do you still have to be 20 to get into epic content?

Excellent question.

Epic normal content is frankly easier then lower level content in many cases.

Crack em open for level 18's. 18-20 on a TR2 would be so much sweeter.

It's really hard to get excited about grinding a million XP on the few available decent XP quests at these levels. Especially considering the XP gain from Heroic to Elite is a HUGE jump.

My recollection is that in D&D everything 20 and over is Epic. SO if DDO wants to remain true then it's doing the right thing. Having said that, we do need more content that is around the 18-19 range given the length of time it takes to progress those levels when TR'ing.

Because they want 20+ XP scaled differently to encourage L20+ characters to run content on Epic. So they jacked the XP up in Epic content, and kept L1-19 locked out of it so they can't earn huge XP while still on Heroic levels.

I guess they could have kept the Epic XP scaled the same, and just put a huge penalty for L20s gaining XP on Heroic quests, but really it's not that big a deal. Sure it would be nice if you could get Epic XP while L18, just like it would be nice to use Epic equipment at L1...but things have a min level for a reason.

It's making it awfully hard for those in the level 18-19 range to even find groups, since if you're level 20, why would you run a 8k xp level 19 quest which is harder than the level 20 epic quest, but gives 50k xp?

Indeed, the big problem in the epic quest needs level 20 is levels 18-19 when TRing. There are so many fewer groups for level 18-19 quests than there were before and even the raids do not give you xp as you are being powerleveled by those level 25s. I find the need to grind challenges for that XP annoying.
