All joking aside, 30 secs is way to short and almost like griefing. I use it before I expect to get poisoned and it runs out as I am being poisoned. Or you could use it in the middle of a fight and hope you kill whatever is attacking you within the next 30 seconds.

The fix would be to return its duration to what it was and make it so it cures whatever poison is currently affecting you and give you a bonus vs all future effects for the duration. A bonus of half caster level is not too much.

A slotted item that makes you immune to poison should be no different than one that lets you breathe underwater or fall without taking damage. Nuetralizing and immunity are 2 different things, the change was not needed imo but increasing the duration still keeps the spell viable. One should not have to refresh such a spell so often.

Yeah. This is just silly. Most poisons aren't a big deal but something like pit fiend venom? Not taking chances with that one. End fight of Weapon Shipment on my wf caster I think I drank more poison potions than casting DoTs. I understand that Turbine wants to make poisons and diseases viable as damage, I agree, make them viable but this isn't the way to do it. Before they were a minor annoyance, now there a major annoyance. It doesn't increase any challenge or quality of gameplay its just a hassle.

Why not make the magic/supernatural poisons and diseases have a DC to remove, a potion may not cut it encouraging you to have a heal-type in the party. (I'd even go as far to make some no-save on affliction but I have Past Life:Sadist DM) Maybe split Neutralize Poison into two components, a "Purge Poison" and a "Magical/Supernatural Poison Resistance" Where Purge removes it and Resistance is a stone skin/DR effect that protects against either form. "Immune to (type) poisons of DC equal or lesser than caster level and grants 10 resistance per caster level. Arcanes would get magical, Divines supernatural which would also provide immunity to natural poisons.

Just an idea . . .

I haven't tried it yet myself, but is the spell extendable?

( I agree, it should be a spell worth taking. Since the dev's have decided short term buffs aren't much fun and extended most of them to 5 minutes long, would it really be too much to ask that the spell be able to last for at LEAST a couple minutes if extended and cast from a level 20+ divine?)

make poison Immunity work better. At least if nothing else make the divine spells have the same duration it used to.

On my PM Wiz I stoped even bothering with neutralize poison.. I went through a stack of 100 thing to keep myself buffed with it and still take stat dmg.. easier to try to make it to a shrine then worry about poison..

There are many things affected by the Poison Changes

Two types now exist (natural and supernatural)
Immunity have been replaced with resistance
Spells like neutralize poison no longer provide a 1 min/per caster level <- it now cures the Poison and provides a 30 second buff to the resistance
Divine Cleansing's 3 minute buff now includes poison immunity <- actual immunity not resistance

Basically the neutralize poison spell has been downgraded to a cure for poison

Not sure how I feel about the change, just trying it out without prejudice in both the new and old quests.
