I just found out today that my good friend Jamie Skalberg has passed away due to an IED while serving over seas. This makes two friends gone in two weeks, the other from diabetes. :( He leaves behind his wife and 11 month old son. I know his family would appreciate any well wishes and prayers since the next few weeks will be very hard, especially with the Westboro Baptist Church coming to protest his funeral. Thanks in advance and I will pass along the prayers to his family.

As for the Westboro Baptist Church, F**K THEM! I hope the Patriot Guard Riders are available to interrupt whatever that fake church of losers are planning in doing. They should be ashamed of themselves, but I know they arent.

Never knew him either but I have only respect for those who serve in the military.
I only wish world leaders wouldnt be so willing to declare war on each other.

See if you can get a hold of some of those groups that counter protest the WBC. Luckily there is usually only a few WBC people on hand when they hold these protests. They dont have a high turn out, for some reason.

My condolences to his family and friends.
Much love and respect for those who serve our country and are willing to lay down their lives to protect and serve his/her fellow wo/man.
My brother is currently serving and did 2 tours in Iraq and is currently training for special forces.

Re. Westboro. If they are coming you may want to contact these guys and see if they can make a showing as well.

Thank you all very much for the condolences and support. The town he is from is only 6000+ for population, so when the motorcade brought him back the town pretty much shut down long enough for them all to come out and witness it. They also showed great support by placing over 600 flags around town.
From what I have heard, the patriot guard has been notified, but they have many confirmed rides around the same time so we don't know if many will show up. The entire town has banded together though, this is the second visit from WBC for a soldiers funeral, and we will be putting into effect Operation Red White and Blue as a town to shield the family from the hate mongers.

Please convey the condolences and gratitude of my family to his. We enjoy the freedom we do because people like him were willing to risk their lives in defense of our country. I am sometimes a vocal critic of our country's foreign policy, but never of the soldiers who in good faith strive to carry out their small assigned piece, and I feel nothing but contempt for the WBC dupes who fail to realize the difference.
And to all of you who serve, let me take this opportunity to thank you while I can.
