To all the haters and the griefers and to all the people who cannot accept that everyone in the world does not agree with them,

I am out.
I love the game.
I'm sick of you.
You win.
I am defeated.
A moderator will be deleting my forum account and this post shortly.
I am no longer a participating member of this community.

There will be things that I miss but it will be worth it.

Don't delete your forum account - I think that's the thing that lets you enter lotteries. Other than that, have fun in the game! :)

dude? really? dont let forum trolls get to you. just keep posting your opinion. thats what the internet is. and thats how basically any forum works. it sucks but thats how it is. haters hate. and if u really read and look at players recent posts when they say something troll-y you will see that those people consistently do that. every day. 4/5 posts. i get a huge kick out of it. people are posting whiny complaints and talking about stuff they havent even tested. they read the notes. thought they understood it. then started talking about it. for those of us who had been beta testing for the past 2 months we simple enjoyed a toothy grin as we red their ignorant uneducated, unintelligent, unfounded, untested, and mostly untrue statements. just learn to laugh at them. i receive massive amounts of entertainment reading the things the people on these forums. it is pure comedy.

Why would a moderator need to delete your account? Just don't log in to the forums if it creates that much stress for you. Never know when you may need your log in at some point in the future.

While I get dragged in on occassion, for the most part reading the ....... thoughts ......... that some posters put out there actually keeps me going while at work.

Of course my staff does look over at me and wonder why I am laughing with tears rolling down my checks but they all just assume I am insane at this point.

I think it is good that they have passion about their feelings to be honest. However, I am looking at this and wondering if this is how the developers feel when they read a rage quit post about players leaving the game.

Personally I am not moved by this post to be nicer, or change my ways, or even look into what happened to this poster to inspire their desire to quit the forums, via their posting history.

This is one of many posts I have read in this vein as well, looking at it, and wonder how the moderators and developers and staff feel as they read these forums riddled with posts like this, and I sense that they for the most part, like I have to this post, become numb to the criticism, and perhaps, vainly, even a bit come to enjoy seeing the rage that erupts from some posters. Just as I enjoy the passion of some posters as they rage about changes to the game. Passion is a good thing, but it does nothing to promote clear open communication.

This was rather enjoyable to tell the truth, I wonder if this is how the staff at Turbine feels when they read yet another rage-quit post?

To clarify.
I am quitting the forums and not the game.
I love the game.

I have changed my options so you can see that I do have quite a bit of positive rep which I hope that I gained from helping others or positively contributing to these pages. I'm smart enough to know how much those green boxes are worth. If I could give them away I would but they are truly worthless.

When I first started reading and posting here I felt that it was a far more mature place than other gaming forums that I have visited.
I no longer think that.

From time to time I will read the important posts, but the rest I can live without.

adios.

This is Turbine. No one has to actually turn out the lights.

They have a program linked to motion sensors, the lights go out automatically.

Well....

They will when the patch for the motion sensors is working.

Its not about agreeing or disagreeing. Its the fact that people who disagree and do not have the ability to refute those they disagree with will immediately turn it into a personal discussion. If they cannot prove their own point, they will attempt to discredit yours through insults.

Statements that those who disagree not having read/understood the topic, not knowing what they are talking about, accusations of being elitist, accusations of having personality disorders (nurotic, narcissistic etc), accusations of reading comprehension, etc are all rampant on these forums - all for the simple act of not agreeing with someone, and that forumite not being able to deal with disagreement on the internet.

Another common tactic is specific forumites will also go get all their friends who agree with them, just to make sure they can outnumber you in a huge pile on, and any logic you can bring to the table will be burried underneath hundreds of posts insulting those they disagree with. They will also neg rep troll newer forum accounts they collectively disagree with into automod status.

Last but not least are the goad reporters. They will post a reply to you that is borderline against the rules in order to provoke you into replying in kind but being more over the line. They will in turn report your post and act like they are all offended about it. Its like a game of hockey. The ref never sees who threw the first punch. They always see the retaliation, and that is the player who ends up in the penalty box, while instigator is out on the ice enjoying a powerplay with the rest of their team.

My advice OP: Learn the forum rules, and instead of replying back to people who are already in violation of those rules, just report their posts and be done with it. You will learn who the common people are who always show up to troll your posts. If they cant have a civil disagreement without stepping over the line, its them, and not you, who should be disappearing for a time.

Anybody who does this doesn't know how the forums work. Mods overturn invalid negative rep when they are alerted to it. So giving someone negative rep in an attempt to draw mod attention is akin to bringing your own ringing burglar alarm to a robbery.

Not that I would expect intelligent behavior from trolls, but still.

Because this thread is stupid. /ragequitforums is asking to be trolled. He WANTS to be trolled. If he was going to quit, just leave. When one holds a slab a meat near a lion's cage, expect to be bitten.
