They moved it- It's no longer on target window. It's on HP/SP bar and only if you show large bar.

On the on hand, I totally love you because I've been looking for that thing since the expansion. :)

ON the other hand, you broke my little Turtley heart, I hate the big hp/sp bars. They are obnoxious on my screen and I liked having the option to go use the old way without a problem.

But clicking the show large icon bar every now and then to check for mail will not kill me, or merely making a once a day mail check by clicking on the box is also a simple non-aggravating solution.

So are so many of us opting out of the large bars that somebody at Turbine looked bad and wanted to tip the numbers? Because I can't think of a legitimate reason why a large vital bar should be the only way to see if I have mail without running to a mailbox.

Welcome to DDO where we make ranodm uneeded and counterintuitive changes to our UI, just because we can.

It would make more sense to put the mail icon in the upper right side of the screen along side the AP and World Event indicators. Attaching it to a screen element that can change size, be dismissed or otherwise hidden is not good design.

This is true.

That said, I don't remember it receiving any positive feedback during the beta, either--along with the inexplicable removal of the Trade/Examine/Tell/etc buttons from the Focus Orb. Really fun calling up that little menu now if you need to pass some pots or something during the thick of battle.

Sorry, the UI changes are the WORST things they did for this pack. I guess I'll have to get into the habit of checking my mail EVERY DAY. Not changing my bars AGAIN.

To be fair the release notes said it was moved to the vitals bar. Not the large vitals bar only. No one uses that thing, and I want my old focus orb back. Complete with a trade button that is easily accessible, an at-a-glance mail notification system, and skinnier profile that tucks between hotbars nicely.

I like the new hotbars, I miss the old focus orb.

The mail notification icon has been moved from the focus orb to the player vitals bar. The icon has also been updated to be a "letter" icon.

but i think you can change the focus orb back to something similar to old one (but smaller) by cycling the eyeball icon of the focus orb

Have you tried clicking on the 'eye' on the focus orb? There are 3 different ones.

No, I haven't tried clicking the eye. I've only played once since the update and not very long at that. I'm off tomorrow, i'll take a look at it then. Thanks for the tips folks!

Yep - this is a head-scratcher. I cannot imagine a single legitimate reason for putting that on the big bar..
