View Full Version : Key to the City - Eveningstar: Reduce the CD to 20 mins

I seriously can't understand why the CD is 1h. Can't take anymore of running around to Eveningstar with 3 loading screens. Reduce the CD to 20 mins if it MUST have a CD or remove it altogheter (much better option imho.)
EDIT: CD = Cooldown

The 60 min CD kinda confused me as well. I'm guessing there was a reason but I can't think of it. I'm all for a 5-10 min CD.

I was trying to find a reason as well but I just can't. Seems unreasonable to me. Maybe the higher tier reduces the CD?

Ship buffs last 60 minutes.

Still seems silly since you can port to the ship from the Eveningstar Caves and run from the boat back to Eveningstar in a minute or two. I guess it would be useful for non umd/caster toons who are in Amrath or RR? Even then why the hour? Maybe it was a misplaced value?

What does CD stand for? I am confused.

CD?
CD = Compact Disc?
(I hate it when people start arbitrarily leveraging new acronyms without some better context.)

My guess was cross dressing ... then I really started to worry about how my WF would adapt to all these changes.

The key is a favor reward for the Purple Dragon Knights. It is a trinket that teleports you to Eveningstar but has a 60 minute CD before you can use it again.

And now that I understand... WAT?! 60 minute cooldown?! How on Eberron (or on Faerun) would that ability be considered over-powered or exploitative to the point where it would need to be punished for 60 minutes?
Sorry... limiting transit is bad. Anyone remember the starports in Star Wars: Galaxies that took 30 minutes to get anywhere?

...there are some girlie docents out there that are available. I think...?
Perhaps one with some shoulder pads, and a skirt type thing?
(Unsure.)

Similar to Lotro then where you can use your teleport once per hour.

Wait, this is a Favor unlock? Man I wasd tyring for ages to fidn out how to get back to eveningstar without going through 3 loading screens....This should be just a normal thing...that's good game design, lots of loading screens is a bad thing!

*use scroll to port from eveningstar to house k bank....loading screen*
*exit house k bank...loading screen*
*enter ship....loading screen*
*using doors to decks on ship... loading screen (x2)*
*going off ship...loading screen*
*entering stupid cave...loading screen*
*exitting to another stupid cavern....loading screen*
*entering village... loading screen*
*entering forest.... zone in crash*
Using the trinket saved me one zone in crash then^^. Wow, 60 minutes for just transition? Come on Turbine, you HAVE the technology^^.

What else can it be used for? It's cooldown, like you use with feats/spells/enhancements.
However, I thought about ship buffs too but seems silly to have 1h just cause of ship buffs. There is people that don't use it (and/or will die in EE since they are hard)

It's relatively easy to get 125 favor. This makes sense as a favor reward much better than most.
Honestly though... I have a planescaller on my ship who is basically unemployed now. He should get cracking on learning how to get me to Eveningstar.
