Chicks with spells come.
Chicks with arrows come.
Chicks with swords and
rox and webs come.
Look, sir. Look, sir.
Mr Knox, sir.
Let's do tricks with
rox and blocks, sir.
Let's do tricks with
chicks and clocks, sir.
Major kudos to Turbine on U-14 this update is not only a homerun but a grandslam. When I first signed onto DDO 6 years ago this is what I have envisioned. While there are a few that say they do not like the Forgotten Realms setting it is obvious they do not speak for the majority.
The story line, the images, the NPCs and the foes we face are above expectations. I know there are some bugs and things to iron out but that is expected and Turbine has done well n the past to overcome most of the issues. I don't sweat the small stuff. I look forward to many more updates in the future with additions to FR as well.

thank you for once not a negative thread. :) i freaking love the new area. it's all i have been in last few days. sure once i get my fill. i'm going back to what i normally do. so much to run level toons etc.
I agree i think turbine finally has the right image on where their going. right content right monsters ideas all that stuff. they just need to tweak a few things fix a couple bugs adjust traps like ww etc. i just hope fernando will keep to what he said in a video. talking about expansion in fr and eberron. Then everyone is happy. enough content per update and things to check out. 1 pack per update is a little small and gets boring quickly. give us something to work with. we wont get bored so quickly.

If you look past the bugs, this is a great content update. The quests are well designed and fun. The challenges are 1000% better than any previous ones...you finally got the formula for a fun challenge correct. Most of the mechanics changes should work out well in the end. Destinies are for the most part a great addition.

Well done as far as the drow culture, architecture, story! (when not considering the bugs) We had a small party of 3 (can't find a healer for pug) mapping out the Underdark and Sschindylryn yesterday and did a quest in the House of Rusted Blades and it was fun. We were lost in the Underdark (it is huge!) for like 5 hours and Sschindylryn was huge!
Haven't mapped out even half of the King's Forest yet...
Purple worms, drow arch-necromancer, yuanti-variants as slaves, demon variants, drow priestess and acolytes preaching on Lolth faith with collared slaves, etc.

I love the new content. The Demonweb was incredible. The King's forest is awesome. As a player who loves the wilderness areas, the Kingswood and the Underdark are both incredible, in terms of feel and also in terms of the random mob generation.
Having been out in the forest a few times over the last couple of days I was shocked/stunned/laughing out loud, to walk into a grove that had always been squirrels, that had one of the reinforced drow patrols. OMG it was great fun.
The bugs suck, but the content is better.
Quick query though, did they use Ed Greenwood as the voice actor for Elminster or no?

Yes, good work. I was hoping for more than just a bigger than normal list of new dungeons in the expansion. I was pleased that this actually feels like a new world area with new landscape art, music, themes, monsters, and game mechanics. It really feels like a major expansion. Granted, I didn't agree with every change, and some of the bugs are annoying. Overall though I agree with the direction of Forgotten Realms and enjoy the "new game feel" with the art, loot, new levels, and new or updated systems.
I know it was a huge effort with many long days and weekend work. I'm sure many of you went beyond just what was required with your job, so thank you for bringing this experience to us!

I agree, the quests are great as are the new monsters. But coming from Eberron I find Eveningstar a little boring looking, forest looks nice though. I imagine our characters view this town as some podunk backwater filled with peasants that hadn't heard about magic.

Nice replies everyone. As for the way Eveningstar looks and feels this is classic FR and very well done.

The underdark is very well rendered.
It is so immersive , in fact, that the "flower-sniffler" side overpowered the "power-gamer" side in me.
I wandered hours in there , not bothering with XP & loot but obsessed with discovery.
Oh, and those purple worms are scary !

lovely post, nice to see other happy people around. :) And the people who don't like the fr setting, it's the same for some of us who really hated the Eberron setting, but sucked it up to pay ddo. :) Variety just gives more people the chance to have something they like.

love the new content, quests, etc...
just work out the bugs out and you'll have a decent product. i understand time restrains were an issue and i personally don't care about the vast amount of minor bugs, but they do need to be polished out asap.
