Having an issue while banking a level

I have a 7th level ranger that has enough xp to take my 8th level but I have not done so. Tonight I was working on level 5 quests and I am doing them on hard to maintain my streak. I noticed that I am not eligible for the streak bonus on these quests. Does the game recognize me as level 8 even though I have not taken that level? If that is the case, is this WAI?

Its not a huge deal, but I am always a fan of bonus xp. Thanks for the help.

A level 5 quest on Hard would be the equivalent of level 6. So at level 7 you should not be getting Bravery Bonus for it.

Hmmmm .... then I don't understand how the bravery bonus thing works. That is not surprising because I don't understand much about the game!

As with all the changes of this downgrade (oh, I meant update), I'm not sure if they're wai, or maybe devs was just hitting random buttons while creating game code :P

Eg: Im level 7 and I decide to go run level 3 Harbor quests on Elite having skipped them. I have the full 50% BB already.

I get the negative XP from being over level, the 80% first time on Elite bonus, and the 50% BB bonus? (Plus tomes/pots /whatever?)??

I always thought the limit for the bravery bonus was that you could not be two levels higher than the base level of the quest. So in my case, a 7th level character would get the bonus on a 5th level quest. I could be wrong though.

If they have nerfed this, that is fine. I don't remember seeing it in the release notes. I guess there isn't really much of a reason to bank that level anymore if all of that is true.

You still have to be at most 2 levels higher than what the quest would have been on normal difficulty.
However, your level is calculated by your accumulated experience, not your actual level as shown in the sheet.

If you are lvl 7 on a lvl 5 hard quest (so lvl 6 final level of the quest) you get your BB.
If you are banking your level, the game treats you as a level 8 character in a level 5 hard quest, so you don't get your BB.

You're eligible for BB oh both hard and elite if your level is no bigger than quest level +2.
So hard and elite streaks are both quest lvl+2 (so hard phiarlan carnival streak is max lvl7).

I have never paid any attention to the streak thing ... has this always been the case or did they change it when the xpac went live?

Before the expansion, you could bank the level and still be 7th level for all BB purpose, in the example.
Now you'd better levelup as soon as you get your level, for BB purposes.

It wasn't the case before, we regularly used to bank levels to be able to do lower stuff and still get the exp for it. It is pretty unfair, even though you have the exp for the next level you havent taken it, so dont have the higher HP or SP or anything. It shouldn't count banked levels.

Too busy to read through the entire thread so pardon me if this is already known, but the 'no more banking XP' is simply a bug.

Thanks Krelar, you're a champ. Looks like my TR train just got derailed until this is fixed - I'm not about to give away all the streak xp in the Vale.
