Alright all, now that Lamannia enters its long slumber until the next preview/beta-ish time, wanted to cover a few last details before launch day...

- There are some issues that we'll be patching for after the launch. These are fixes that either couldn't make the last build window, or that didn't take hold in the last build (e.g. I'm looking at you madstone wackiness, epic lvl 1 after opening a challenge, uncentered monks losing gear buffs, and weird tome of fate drop rates). Thank you to all players who helped file bug reports and tried out MOTU on Lamannia during beta!

- The Lamannia forums will be bumped back down the forum list into hibernation, though still open and visible.

- Monday is "the day", but that also means the pre-purchase bonuses will go away. If you like the pre-purchase bonuses, this weekend is the last time to get them! You'll still be able to get the Xpack, but not with the battle panthers, masks, pets, and XP tomes. If you're into that, nab it while you still can. If you have friends who you even suspect are into bonus items like that, better let them know so they're not kicking themselves once the bonuses are gone (6+ years later and I STILL routinely get PMs about Founder status so for some of you I know this kind of stuff matters, hence why I'm calling it out).

- That 30% XP bonus is still on this weekend. Also don't forget to complete the Spinner of Shadows quest!

Wait the XP tomes are part of the pre-order bonuses too? As the adventure packs/tomes/TP are all listed as just being part of the packs (except the CE of course which is pre-order only).

Yes that quest line is required to learn about this whole Forgotten Realms portal thing and get access to the chamber with the portal and the quest line to travel over. I'd hazard a guess it's per character but didn't test.

You're misreading, the way the quote is written is saying that the XP tomes are part of the preorder, so if you buy the Standard pack you don't get the one free Greater if you buy it after the 25th. That has nothing to do with the CE's lesser tomes being handed out.

Also the pre-order mechanic isn't being changed anyways. Once the 25th hits, it's not pre-ordering anymore, it's just buying. Hence why the CE is going away and some of the bonuses.

All characters need to do it once (even if on casual). Quest is free, and also if you already ran it back when U13 launched in February you're good, you don't need to repeat it on Monday.

You are. He means that the ability to preorder the expansion is going away, so you can no longer gain access to XP tomes or any of the other stuff. You'll still continue to get them on every character if you did preorder.

But you should still be getting those tomes from now until whenever on new characters so long as you purchased the x-pac.

It's the "tomes forever" part that goes away. Collector's edition won't be available after launch, which is the edition that contains the "1 Free Tome per character forever".

Standard and Base will only lose anything that is listed specifically as "bonus", so they will still include a tome.

Will this be a new DDO mechanic? Each Charecter has a 1 time lesser Reincarnation (like the feat respec tokens except no new one after TR). By this I mean could we allow new players the chance to fix their newb mistakes after learning more of the ropes of DDO?

For example, I would have liked to know to put diplo on my Wizard but I saw no point at in the slightest at the time. But now I have lots more know-how of how the game works and will be putting more attention into the skills.

Thus, as a hand-hold for new players, you should seriously puting this in as a pernament feature.

It might or might not drop in any content you might or might not own and its actual value to you might differ, because it could be either exceedingly difficult to acquire or drop like candy whenever you stumble over a breakable in faerun, you really have no way of telling yet!"

In the future, if you guys want a better way to do this, give us a token at login and let us hand it into a trader for our choice of a Lesser (with plus modifiers)/True Heart of Wood. Some character mistakes are more fundamental with the mechanics being changed in MotU. (ex. Monk splash builds.)

Still unaddressed for a fix is the random issue with Argonessen Draconic Vitality and Coin Lords +2 Intim Favor getting lost with while Lesser Reincarnating.

Is this to be fixed before Monday......

If not please make people aware of the potential favor losses involved.

I thank Turbine for giving us the chance to fix some characters heavily impacted by the changes.

But... This favor bug was reported way back U11 and is still not fixed.

Just spreading the word so people dont have to re-grind the 2 specific favors if they get lost via LR.

If this was really the isolated case then there would be more detail in the know issues on how to prevent it.

A few guild intims respecced for the new intim values and changes in U11 and lost the favor.

No levels were changed at all a straight up lesser heart.

That doesn't apply though. Unless they just turned off epic timers but not the raid timers. I know this for a fact because +Codeshaper wanted us to run an additional Shroud, but we couldn't, because he/she couldn't get past the timer.

I have a L20 dwarven cleric I have lesser reincarnated a couple of times. (He was my first build, so I was learning.) Yes, I lost the favor rewards. (Draconic HP) Changing classes has nothing to do with it, from what I've seen. I never changed his classes, and still don't have those. (Not that 10 hp is a huge deal to me. Now that I know the bug is there, I just don't reincarnate unless it's a TR.)

What is the thought process behind 2 minutes? Seems kind of arbitrary. Why not just make it no timer, or if there is some game mechanic behind it that there has to be a timer...1 minute?

No, all your levels will be given in exactly the same order you took them levelling up.

Yes :) Kruz will allow 1 free respec (a lesser reincarnation) per character. You don't need a heart of wood, just talk to Kruz and he'll let you do a lesser. Only restriction is it can't be a true, greater, or + reincarnation, just a basic lesser reincarnation.

Just curious, why 2 min? a 2 min timer doesn't seem like it will actually do anything besides giving people an even better reason to grab ship buffs between quests...

is this just an arbitrary argument it's probably the easy way to not have to rewrite the code on old epics does it even matter the 2 min will never be noticed by the time you go to the tavern and sell/repair it will be ready to go again.

I'm pretty sure the current bug is more like "Don't equip it if you plan on doing **** near anything that isn't swinging a weapon, including many abilities from epic destinies or activating barbarian rage"

The first character on *each* server to *use* the ticket gets the big bag of goodies. The rest get the lesser pile of stuff. If you have no toons on a server now, you can make any toons you want any time you want, just be careful which one opens the ticket first. The game will warn you that it's the first use and ask you to confirm.

It's across all servers. Your first character you apply it too gets the greater tome of learning one on each server, then everyone else, including future characters gets the lesser. And even after you TR - you get a lesser, panther and the 3 hr 20% exp pot. Each TR.

If I am not mistaken, completing a raid starts two timers: The Epic Timer, and the Raid Timer. The former one usually runs out before the second one. This will probably stay this way.

These 2 actions would be in all likelyhood the players fault through a weak password, leaving the account logged in or making the decision to delete themselves. In any of these cases, all could be lost, not just the prepurchase ticket. Be careful when deleting and managing characters. The situations stated would be the user's fault, with confirmation needed on character delete and no obligation of turbines to fix.

Alright all, now that Lamannia enters its long slumber until the next preview/beta-ish time, wanted to cover a few last details before launch day...

- There are some issues that we'll be patching for after the launch. These are fixes that either couldn't make the last build window, or that didn't take hold in the last build (e.g. I'm looking at you madstone wackiness, epic lvl 1 after opening a challenge, uncentered monks losing gear buffs, and weird tome of fate drop rates). Thank you to all players who helped file bug reports and tried out MOTU on Lamannia during beta!

- The Lamannia forums will be bumped back down the forum list into hibernation, though still open and visible.

- Monday is "the day", but that also means the pre-purchase bonuses will go away. If you like the pre-purchase bonuses, this weekend is the last time to get them! You'll still be able to get the Xpack, but not with the battle panthers, masks, pets, and XP tomes. If you're into that, nab it while you still can. If you have friends who you even suspect are into bonus items like that, better let them know so they're not kicking themselves once the bonuses are gone (6+ years later and I STILL routinely get PMs about Founder status so for some of you I know this kind of stuff matters, hence why I'm calling it out).

- That 30% XP bonus is still on this weekend. Also don't forget to complete the Spinner of Shadows quest!

I was in the game since Closed Beta, didn't care much for the forums at the time it was being handed out, and missed my window, then procrastinated on asking for it. Meh. I keep a Founder's Helm in the bank on my first toon in remembrance. *I* know I'm one of the oldest DDO players, and that's all that matters...right?

So, question: I bought a code for a friend who isn't back in the game yet, and may not be for another month. Since it is a CE MotU preorder code, will all the benefits be included when it is redeemed? That's how the original DDO preorder worked (got one for a friend back in the day so he'd get all the silly little things that just get deleted now). Anyway...seems like it'd invite a mess of trouble and complaints if it *didn't* work like that, as people would be paying $80 for...not much.

That's nice and all, but with the AC changes, a lot of melee /1 monk splashes may no longer see that as viable and would prefer to go with armour now.

As much as I agree with getting at least some level of + to the LR, you can still wear armor with a Monk level. You'll lose most of the benefits of taking it but at least you'll have the free feat.

You'll keep getting those extras on your characters even after the Xpack launches. :) So yes when you roll up new characters, they'll continue to get redemption tickets in their inventory.

And because this came up in the beta forums wanted to re-remind folks...

Pre-purchase ends Monday, after which time:
- Standard edition after launch won't include any bonus items (if you already pre-purchased Standard, you're keep getting your bonus items on your current & future characters)
- Base edition after launch won't include any bonus items (if you already pre-purchased Base, you're keep getting your bonus items on your current & future characters)
- And here's the really really important one: the ENTIRE collector's edition goes away once pre-purchase is over. (if you already bought it, you'll keep getting your bonus items on your current & future characters)

I've seen a few comments suggesting some folks thought they could get the Collector's just without panthers/infinite lesser tomes after Monday, and that is not the case. After launch the two Xpack options will be Standard & Base edition (sans bonus items).

Also, not sure what you mean by the tomes not being listed. This is what the CE description says on underdark.ddo.com:

Greater Tome of Learning
(1 free tome per DDO game world)
Permanently increases experience earned by a character up to level 20. Provides +50% bonus to experience for first-time quest completions and +20% boost to other earned experience points. Stacks with other experience boosts and persists through all forms of reincarnation.

You will get them forever if you prepurchased. Tolero is saying after the xpac goes live, a new person will not get these bonuses even if they buy all the parts included in the xpac. Your druid should be fine with getting the bonus items. Look at the post above the quoted one here .

Lets keep it simple: you preordered, you got the bonuses, you keep the bonuses. You wait till after it launches to *buy*, you don't get the preorder bonuses. CE gets some bonuses for being CE, but the stuff that comes with a preorder obviously won't apply.

Through the muddied waters of how people are taking this, and the wording that is used, that is the way I see it rolling out (and if it turns out I am wrong about that, I'll be at the booth handing out the torches personally lol).

Things that explicitly state happens once (as in first character to use the Tome per server), happen once.
If something states it happens for every character past the first, guess what?
Every character past the first gets that bonus.
