So I know you VIP's prolly have like 800 characters that are mules.
Another thread got me interested in "how do you organizae your mules?"
I've seen some that store by character type (all my monk stash is on one, caster on another, etc).
Others store by weapon, armor, slashing, whatever.
Because I don't want to buy another mule character slot, I have three with gear of 1-6, 7-12, 13-20 respectively; a crafter with all the requisite bits that go with that; one for potions (that's a "legacy" mule who's prolly gonna go away because I have the plat to buy those as I need now; and one for important collectables like vale, IQ, and shavrath stuff (she also stores all my excess platinum just out of convenience/for sharing across characters or to buy tomes, etc).
What have you found to be effective/efficient for your mules?

I don't have any.
I find it works well, because I never have to look for anything; it's on the character I'm playing right now!

I have a pretty "seat of my pants" way of organizing bank toons. What I'll do is find gear and put it on a character I think fits it. I have a dwarf I will want to one day to tempest weilding daxes. So anything I find that I think will work nice for it, goes there ect..ect..ect..
Than I have a couple of dedicated **** toon where all the misc junk I get goes to them (tomes/pots/fortune gems/LGS items/twinking lowbie gear ect.ect.ect.) It works fairly well If you want to loose track of most of your items

I prefer the term "financial adviser" to bank mule. I like to get a character up to at least level 9 with a time pendant, decent haggle skill and all the bank/inventory slots feasible (or purchasable) before laterally promoting them to advisory status. I try to keep one per main/alt-of-the-month to serve as a pseudo-squire. I get a reasonable return on investment that way when their primary decides to call it quits on adventuring (or I simply grow tired of the build). They sort themselves by class need when used in that fashion.

Since Cannith crafting I've repurposed my mule slots. I also realized there's a loooooot of things I might but in fact will never use someday, and that makes it a lot easier.

I try to keep sort the loot by theme.
For example, I have a mule for pure stat/skill items, a mule for striding items/haste clickies, a mule for BtA loot, a mule for non bound named loot, a mule for arcane scrolls, a mule for guild slot items, a mule for event/seasonal items (jump specced wiz 3, barb 1, turbohalfling). Then I have a couple non active characters that get used as mules for roughly appropriate gear- eg. mid level caster loaded with lore items and damage clickies, some melee loaded with holy/metalic/PG/vorpal/etc.
Unfortunately "try" is the keyword. I'd probably be better of selling it all and purchasing precisely what I want.
But I'm a hoarder.

I have two bank mules. Didn't have them for a loooong time, but finally got around to making them. Got tired of logging through 26 characters to find that elusive twink item I thought I saw somewhere.
And then not finding it anyway :p
I have a named item mule, and a non-named item mule. Works for me so far. If I want to find a planar, or pieces of the chrono set for twinking, I know who to go to. If I need to find cannith crafted stat items, or weapons or whatever, I go to the other one.
My crafting character is kind of a third mule, in that he has a lot of bta items, special material weapons and so on ready for crafting on him.

Yah, this is why I limit ONE mule to 6 (or 7 in te case of the third) levels... makes me make a decision to keep or not... limiting myself because I KNOW I will keep that -3 garbage throwing dagger of garbageness otherwise... just in case.
My AH trash is getting better and better as I run outta space, laff!
