I created a new character some time ago, and since have purchased veteran status. If I were to use a heart of wood on this existing character would it jump to level 7 as part of the reincarnation process?

veteran status doesn't work with True Reincarnation
if you TR, you have to start from lvl 1

from the way he worded it, it seemed more like a greater/less reincarnate then a true one. but still, answer is the same, you dont jump levels while you reincarnate. g/l reincarnates put you back at the same point where you reincarnated.

veteran status is lvl4, not 7.
vet2 (which you can only get bt preordering atm till sometime in august when they put it in the store) gives lv7.

but, if your under lvl 7 already, why not just delete the character and remake it?

No you will not gain levels if that is what you are asking. Reincarnation starts you back at level 1 no matter what Vet status you have.

If you use a LESSER heart of wood, you'll be subject to Lesser Reincarnation. This lets you "reset" most details of your character: appearance, feats, skills, level-up bonus, etc. You basically rebuild him/her exactly to the point he/she was prior to Lesser Reincarnation. After a Lesser Reincarnation, characters keep exactly the same level of experience they had. So a reincarnated level 3 character will be level 3 at the end, while a level 13 character will be level 13. Veteran status has no effect on this.

If you use a GREATER heart of wood, you'll be subject to Lesser Reincarnation as above, but with 32 build points for a start instead of 28 pts (there is no point using a Greater Heart of Wood on an already 32-pts build).

If you use a TRUE heart of wood - which can only be used on a level 20 character - you'll be subject to True Reincarnation. You will basically start again with a stronger character (free past life feat, more build points). But you will have to start at level 1. Veteran status has no effect on this either.

To summarize, it's not possible to use Veteran status on an already-created character, even while using any form of reincarnation.

Veteran status can be used only at character creation.

This is wrong info. The GREATER heart of wood is to make a 28pt. build into a 32pt. build it can be used by any level toon.
True heart of wood is for True Reincarnation which is only for level 20 toons. which makes a 34pt. build.

Not really:

+x Lesser Heart of Wood: Rebuild your toon, changing up to x levels to a different class (excluding first level). Toon will be se same level after reincarnation as before.

+x Greater Heart of Wood: Rebuild your toon, changing up to x levels to a different class (excluding first level) AND switch from 28 to 32 build points. Toon will be se same level after reincarnation as before.

True Heart of Wood: Only useable on level 20 toons. Delete toon, start a new and slightly stronger toon on the same character slot.

Stupid me, I mixed up Greater reincarnation and true reincarnation. Corrected post above.

Nothing stupid here. We all can make a mistake. Some days I make the mistake of getting out of bed.

Have a great day
