So....why were they promoted to level 100 then? The windspire gryphon is lvl 80 as you stated, if that was the case they should have only been promoted to 80, not 100.

Because they wanted a 3rd category of level 100 guilds on the server to go with the cheaters (you know who I mean) and the soloer (Zonixx and his awesome insanity).

This may have been caused by me not taking into account an unknown factor. You know, you've got your "known knowns", and your "unknown knowns" and your what-have-you's...

So, when I did the renown calculations, I failed to consider the impact of size bonuses and the like, so while I gave them enough renown to hit 80, the bonuses bumped them up to 100. I was not aware that the bonuses were applied even to +-granted renown. I thought if I gave them a calculated amount, that's what they'd get. Little did I know...well, let's just say that I learned something today.

That said, I would expect renown decay to have some impact on how long a guild remains at 100 when it's acquired through + interaction...so they should enjoy it while they can!

i dunno, they may get to enjoy being very high up for a long time. i have a very small guild (less than 15 actives) that is populated solely with bank toons, no toon in it has gained any renown for around to 9 months, in that time it dropped from 1/3 of the way in level 41 to 1/2 way in level 40.

but, i do congratulate them on their new airship and unexpected extra bonus. just a tad jealous it wasn't the guild i'm an officer in.

Slight reading ommission on your part, he said leaving stuff like this going and the "exploit to lvl 100 guild" He is referring to a different guild with the second part of his comment.

While I completely agree with you it is sour grapes to complain about this particular lottery win, it's slightly insulting for staff to make these errors and then say they expect decay to take care of their error. Experience has shown that decay does not hit those that have set their bar so high that no matter the decay it will be quite a long time indeed before they ever see a drop in level.

Am I surprised by Turbine's action and/or lack of corrective actions? Nope not a bit, .much like I expect them to make nerfs in gameplay, I expect them to take actions that in some way undermine and/or negate other people's hard work and achievments. Am I jaded? Yep, do not deny it a bit, as do many of long time players. I still enjoy the game however, and just accept it as par for their course.

I had no idea there was an "exploit to 100" guild.
That should be corrected, of course.

This is kind a different.
Like a professor marking something correct on an exam when it was really incorrect.

The "fair" thing would be to lower the test grade because everyone needs to play by the same rules.

Often the grade remains because it's also not very cool to give someone something then take it away after the fact.

But again thanks for pointing out the "other guild" (may they live in anonymous infamy)
