Well I hope the dramatic title of this thread has attracted your attention. Sorry for the drama.
I was submitting a bug report today and noticed this little gem.
Complaints: If you have a complaint, please send an e-mail to complaints@turbine.com.
I dont see any point in complaining on the forums when the GM I spoke to today wasnt even aware of a problem with the XP stones.
If they are going to ignore our bug reports, and if they are going to pretend that everything is working as intended then the old written complaint just might be the way to go.
I am unhappy with the lack of power that GM's are given and I am unhappy with their silent treatment when things go pear shaped.
I am making a complaint about how the Stone of XP was implemented and how I was cheated from using on the character of my choosing.
I encourage you to do the same.
I see no point complaining here on the forums. It's mostly useless.

Complaining on the forums is a written complaint. Turbine has reps that read our posts. They are aware of the issue at hand. They simply are silent on the matter. If you feel that sending an email to a spam account will get your problems heard/resolved then I encourage you to send it. I just don't see them paying it any more attention than they are the countless threads on these very boards. Best of luck.

If enough people send an email with the same complaint, I imagine it will make a difference. It may not make it priority 1 for a fix, but it might move the priority up a couple notches.

I never saw a confirmation box. If there was one, it was hidden behind lots of other windows. There are many angry people on the forums stating the same thing.
The current theory is that the confirmation window appears in the background (behind inventories), but as it is the active window hitting ENTER is the same as selecting ACCEPT.
Many of us do a lot of typing at the bank as your would know and this is how we believe we were 'ninja'd.
Simple ways to avoid this are stated on the forums. A long cooldown timer or a confirmation box where we would have to type our characters name would have been simple and there is no way someone could accidentally type in their name.
We (those on the forums) have not heard from any devs about this matter either which just ads fuel to the fire. This lack of customer response is not good enough. We dont want to place blame, we want to provide feedback and make this game even better. We also want to know that we have been heard when something is really wrong.
I am unsure of how this exploit can be fixed on a public scale. I would imagine it would be like the Cake problem.
What I would like to be done is for my character account to be looked into and have this One Time Only use of the stone of XP reset so that I can use it on the character of my choosing.
I think the implementation of the use of the Stone of XP was really short sighted and quite frankly a rookie mistake.
Something this big should have never be instantaneous.
We players are happy to have something arrive 2 weeks late, fully tested and working rather than 'today and broken'.

I dont like making official complaints. It seems so juvenile.. but i guess this is the exception. The more of us that use this way of complaining the better.
