Well, it highlights that DDO didn't use the Draconomicon (http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090625002547/forgottenrealms/images/9/94/Red_dragon_anatomy_-_Ron_Spencer.jpg) for their red dragon anatomy (http://my.ddo.com/turbinecommunity/files/2011/03/velah-for-chronicle.jpg), anyway.. ;P

Nice picture! :D
Wow, she looks REALLY MAD!! Do you think that maybe someone involuntarily leveled her to 16 while she was doing inventory management there in the vault? I'm betting so...

Actually from that, it really looks like they mostly did save for head design.

There is a totally different design going on for Velah than standard red dragon.
Point one: Red dragons are muscular and lean with a far more intimidating presence. Velah is a fat cow of a red dragon. The phrase is no longer: you can't hit the broad side of the barn...its 'you can't hit Velah's broad side'.
Point two: Red dragons have a majestic poise, Velah slouches.
Point three: Jelly rolls in scale hide is not attractive, she needs to go on a diet and exercise to tighten that **** up.
Point four: dnd red dragons of that size you can easily make a suit of hide armor out of. Velah has no scales some times which makes no sense, every one should be able to have at least one scale per encounter with her. (this is pretty much b/c I've done twenty runs in the past three months on epic and didn't grab a single scale which is non-sense.)
