I know what it says on DDOwiki. And I have heard it claimed to the contrary by other reputable sources. I would really appreciate it if someone with first-hand in game knowledge could help me settle on this one before I decide to do more than the one life of Paladin I just finished.

Does the passive PL bonus stack additively with each other, to become 15% healing amplification, or does it become three rounds of 5% healing amplification?

A preemptive thank you to anyone with stacked Paladin PLs for your answer. With the build I am looking at a simple 15% healing amp wouldn't let me hit a critical threshold without an additional item, but getting three *1.05 would. Also, congrats to you for triple TRing what I consider the least enjoyable class in the game!

I have 3 pallie past lives and I cant say for sure since it is not listed on the character sheet. DDO Wiki is vague since it says it provides 5%, 10%, then 15%.

I always assumed this was additive, but am curious about the fact that even if it stacked multiplicatively then
given 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.05 = 1.157625 this would make a difference of just over 0.75% healing amp. Is this really so critical?

Strip naked. Note any enhancements you have increasing healing, and get a cleric to hit you with an unyielding sovereignty. Its a Static 1K HP heal that seems to ignore items, enhancements, and clickies on the users part. It IS however, subject to amplification.

I confess I'm curious too.

With just past life.. Nope.

But I'mma ball park it anyway just to see..

1.1 * 1.2 * 1.3 = 1.716 (Items)
1.15 (Add Pally life)
1.3 (Human recovery)
1.3 (Monk recovery)
--------------------------
3.335046

1.1 * 1.2 * 1.3 = 1.716 (Items)
1.157625 (Multi Pally life)
1.3 (Human recovery)
1.3 (Monk recovery)
--------------------------
3.357159

So yes, with "Crapton of amp gear" it can make a bit of a difference. Then again, realistically this is what? trying to be kept up with an FVS free CLW?

Edit: Jorasco ship buff(1.10) get's those to 3.668551 and 3.692875 respectively.

Don't have them personally, but this topic has come up in the past. When you log in it lists your effects, one of which is 5/10/15% extra healing from paladin past life. Search around a bit and you'll probably find a thread on it. Edit: and to clarify, I'm 99.9% certain they said it was 15% listed on login.

"(Combat): +5% Positive Energy Healing"

Edit: closest I could find was http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=3561860&postcount=12 - Lithic posted 15%, and I'm sure he has the 3x Paladin past lives.

I always thought it was multiplicative, just because the way the past life feat shows up as separate feats.
I am also quite certain that the difference is so small it really doesn't matter.

I have a toon with 1 and a toon with 3 pastlives. I am a healing amp junky so testing it has been my passion during play time in the past an what I got from it was that the pastlives stack additively but it all really doesn't matter much in the end whether they did or not it came pretty close no matter what and was only .02 off on it making it a 2-6 hp difference 40 heal difference

Actually, the specifics of this came from planning what gear I might need for next life. The build isn't really important, except to note that it has only a splashing of monk. My healing amp at low levels looked like this:

1.2 Half Elf Healing Amplification II
1.1 Monk Healing Amplification I
1.1 House Jurasco Ship Buff
1.25 JTK - Fire stance

That comes out to 181.5% healing amp. If 2x Paladin PLs gives 110% healing amp, then I have 199.65% healing amp. If it gives 110.25% healing amp then I have 200.10375%. And with Curse of Light and crafted handwraps of Lesser Vampirism / Vampiric the difference between 199% and 200% is pretty huge!

Okay, yes now it makes sense.......

They add together and are then multiplied.

2 lives = 1.1
