Battered Phiarlan Shield + Phiarlan Veil Shield

Probably been asked before... but I was bored tonight so I bought the Phiarlan Veil Shield shield kit. It says I can change the look of my Battered Phiarlan Shield with it but it does not say how... There are some -hints- searching Google that you are supposed to use the Stone of Change. I tried this and it did nothing. Am I missing something here?

You do this at the Stone of Change. Put the shield + the shield kit in the Stone of Change and combine them.
Make sure you get the appearance kit that matches which shield you have as there are can be both round & angular versions of the Battered Guardian shield kit. Unsure if this is the case w/ the Veil shield or not...

Each shield has a shape, and the DDOstore shield upgrade must match shape.

Note that it's mainly a cosmetic upgrade.

Mainly? I thought that was all it was. Does it up the HP/hardness of the shield?
