View Full Version : Sorcerer Sorc TR build feedback

Planning to TR my WF AM Wiz into a Sorc to collect the past life, and frankly play around with the Sorc class some more. Who knows, if I really like it maybe I'll keep him as a Sorc.

Not terribly concerned about level 20 endgame content as I'll likely TR again. Would be nice to have a build that's not a total gimp on common epic quests though, even if it requires some feat swaps. Planning to focus on evoker, might try out some necro towards endgame. Primarily fire spec for leveling, respecing to air or water around level 15-16. Not worried on the spell list/savant line, I'll just change them as needed. Planning to stay WF for toon flavor and easier self-healing during leveling.

WF Sorc, true or chaotic neutral, 36 point build, 2xWiz past lifes, leaning towards the following stats:
STR 12
DEX 10
CON 18
INT 12
WIS 6
CHA 16

Other options considered 10/10/18/12/8/16 and 8/8/20/12/6/16. Thinking I would rather have the extra points to splash around than the CON20?

Feats:
- Toughness
- Arcane Initiate
- Maximize
- Empower
- SF: Evoc
- GSF: Evoc
- Heighten
[maybe make some adjustments later to experiment with Necro spell focus]

Misc available gear relevant to leveling:
- Purple and Lavender Ioun stones
- Torc
- GS HP and SP accessories
- Lvl16 Cove dagger [and lvl20 also]
- various clickies and other staple leveling items
- Can craft all Cannith shards. Will craft any needed lore items and spell clickies.


Any suggestions for tweaks are greatly appreciated, especially on starting stats and feats.

Looks very good.

I'm personally a big fan of 8/8/20/12/6/16, but all options are fine. The extra 20 hps at end game isn't needed--but all other things being equal, its nice to have. The extra STR is nice while leveling, but not so useful at end game.

Since u're TR back to back (if I understood well) like me I would give u this suggestions:

Drop cos to 16, dex to 8 and raise str to 15-16 and rest on int for some skill point (max cha ofc).
Craft a Falchion with holy and with the cannith seal so it becomes a min lv 1.
Try to have one with a medium or a large augment slot on it so u can put a +3 or +4 to hit on it!
If u can try to get 3 rings with a slot too and craft Superior combustion IV, Superior glaciation IV and superior corrosion IV.
Use fire and corrosion at low lv (melf arrow is pretty nice!).
If u find 2 nice ring u can even put more mana and life on em :)
Then use this method : master touch your weapon at quest's start. run, gather a decent group of mobs and cast a max burning hand, then swing around your weapon to finish em all!
I'm doing this way and I usually don't have any prob at all killing mobs etc :)
Even more u can lv up to 6 as a sorc and then put a barb lev on (or get barb at lv 1 but in this case u'll get fireball at lv 7 instead of 6)!
This way u'll get +10% movement speed (that + exp retreat = 35% movement speed so close to haste) and sprint boost for more zerg :)

About feats I gone this way in my previous sorc life:
1) maximize
3) Wiz pl (the free darts are good for leveling)
6) empower
9) evo or conj focus (so u qualify yourself for the savant u want)
12) heighten
15) whatever 1 (I took toughness just for fun even if not needed)
18) whatever 2 (I took mental toughness, which is almost useless I know, since more mana was good and I made 18 with 19 banked so I stayed at lv 18 just for a second or two!!)

But i really would recommend u to take maximize at lv 1.
