Ive looked around the forums and tried many different builds and none of them seem right. I want a build that is a free charecter, very solo able but at the same time helpful if I choose to play with some others. And I'm more of a melee type guy but Ill use a sorc or wizzard if there hands down the best. I know theres no best and its mostly debated on your play style, but my play style is what ever works, so what is the best char / build that you know of?

~ It would be greatly apreciated, clients finished in 45 mins. And I played since the free to play release up until last year and am now coming back.

melee: bard or melee cleric(dwarf or horc for thf, human for twf and divine might), also paladin could be what you're looking for.

casters: wiz18/monk2 or pure wiz palemaster, or wf pure sorc or 18/2paladin(for better saves only)

Everyone has their favorites and their reasons.

This is one of mine and here's why. This build is a modified version of the very first character that I ever had a BLAST soloing nearly everything on. The original can be found here with lots of insight into playing it and equiping it. Lots of controversy in here as well, but to echo Seregon - I've played it. It isn't a hypothetical build. I had tons of fun.

Here's the reasons for my modifications and the build that follows. As much fun as I had on the original build....I missed having trapskills. And even though it occasionally came in handy, my personal playstyle doesn't involve much (if any) sneaking/hiding. Over the course of my play I had run a 2/18 WF Rogue/Wizard and realized the power of two Rogue levels. And I had run other UMD builds (both crossclass point buys and class point buys) and had plenty of other experiences in game that made me think I could tailor the original build to suit me better while keeping everything in it I loved. My first toon ever was a mediocre build that got worse as they changed the game mechanics over time. I recently (read finally) TR'd him and this is where this particular build originated. In my personal version it's a 34-pt build with a rogue past life so I had to pare a couple things down a little to make it fit a 28 point build. If you have access to 32-pts already I'd recommend bumping the WIS up by two.

This does involve eating a +2 to everything tome, but now that tomes carry over through True Reincarnations, it's not such a horrible thing/investment. I usually buy a +2 to everything tome instead of going out for the weekend. Fair trade in my book. Worst case scenario, just make sure you get a +2 INT tome bonus at level 7 somehow to keep the extra skill points and you can always get the other tomes later.

Once again - nods to all the other opinions out there. Hats off to the power gamers and the rule-tweakers. Much love for the casual player, the permadeath crowd and the RP-junkies. I wish you and anyone reading this good luck, good loot, and good times. Now go play!

I tried your build out and it worked out decently, but it doesn't give me the feeling I want. Look at my above post / more recent one for for details on what I am looking for. I'm much more specific there.
