Like the title says, it's my first attempt at this sort of build and I need some advice.

The main focus of the build is the ability to survive (I used Sirgog's Soul Survivor as a template), kill stuff, and be, if necessary, a primary healer.

I have never played a caster and I hope this can be a bridge from playing melee builds to playing a pure caster Fvs or Cleric.

Below is the 32 point version;

The Sorc Dilly is for the extra buffs and such form wand/ scroll use. I've debated on Barb for the extra Hp, Rogue for the 3d6 sneak damage, and Pally for the saves. So far the utility of the Sorc has won out in my mind.

I plan on changing from Undying Court to Sovereign Host after I get raise dead.

The khopesh proficiency is in there mainly as a place holder for the 34 point version. I plan to TR a fighter into this build and he dual wields Lit II 'peshes. I'd hate to not use them :)

With the 34 pointer, the extra build points would go into INT and the extra skill points into Balance and jump.

Please critique the feat and spell selections in particular. I am a novice with caster builds.

Thanks for any advice.

You can't change your deity as a Favored Soul. It's tied to your deity feat that you select at level 1, which you can't swap out due to circular requirements.

I did not know that. Thanks.

I personally would drop kopesh to pick up GTWF and stick with Scimmies.

GTWF is the chosen feat at level 18.

Been a while since I played and know little about Helves (just don't like 'em) but the eSOS-wielding WF is very strong. Grab a fear immunity item, dump CHA and WIS, pump STR and CON and smash everything.

Not saying it's the current optimal build but definitely worth punching into the planner before you start making choices you can't reverse.

I have an 18/2 FVS/Monk Elf with scimitars that I greatly enjoy playing, the evasion from the monk levels is nice due to FVS saves, but it's in addition to the two feats. An 18/2 Fighter human using khopeshes would play very much like your TWF khopesh fighter without evasion, and would fit khopesh feat easily as well as power attack, which is missing on your build sheet. I have it on my Elf, and I can't really imagine doing without it. Human with khopeshes, I'd say.

indeed it does. missed that on the first pass, sorry.
I'd still consider dropping kopesh for scimmies. Throw in power attack with div powa, FvS bonuses and div fav hitting shouldn't be a major issue and while kopeshes are king for most I doubt that they make up for the 5 dmg you lose to PA and even more with faith bonuses.

So I'd go human and grab peshes or stick 1/2elf and go scimmies.

I'd go scimmies to get faith bonuses for hit and dmg and to have sorc dilly scroll ability.

though that is me and if ya want peshes , then go peshes.

I like the way you think :)

uhm, max str, 16 or higher con, medicore wis, very low cha, dex(for what, luls?), wil(something, whos going to save your mighty sword anyway).

and.... BE a warforged. It takes like zero effort to be decent melee as wf fvs.

The DEX is for TWF. As I stated in the op, I'm thinking of TRing a fighter that dual wields khopesh. I like TWF.

Ya know how some people don't like the half-elf? I don't like warforged. I know they're awesome and all, but I don't enjoy playing them.

I also realize it takes zero effort to build a decent wf fvs, that's why they're so common. I prefer to come up with alternatives to what everyone else is doing.

Thanks

Half elves have good going with scimitars, reason i came with whole wf fvs idea was because its just so stupidly non needy character, it works out of thin air. Almost like an exploit, your only loss is spell dc. As far as healing goes, its exactly as good as any.

If you can afford khopesh feat, go for it.

ps, you can probably get by just fine with 11 starting charisma. 11+2+6=19. difference in mana is close to non existent, alltho in few selected quests, your charisma may be drained down by few.

The splash is nice for additional feats and proficiency-but the pure version would attain a pretty good capstone and DR. I guess you would have to sit down and determine which is more important to you.

TWF on a FvS takes a great number of resources to invest for minimal gain. Might I suggest THF and dump the DEX for a different stat distribution?

Otherwise-the basic idea of your build looks very fun! Im sure you will enjoy it. :)

18fvs/1ftr/1mnk would be basically the same (can take power attack or toughness as the monk feat) but would give the option of using handwraps vs. undead.

Rogue dilly would seem much more powerful than sorc. You can easily UMD teleport and fireshield scrolls with your 11 ranks.
