Hi, i'm a bit confused with these 2 powers.

How exactly do these work? do they stack? Can hide be better? (though i don't understand how) Does invisi max hide?

Is it worth puting points in hide if your gonna use invisi all the time? I'm just trying to get a handle on how this all works..

-They are completely separate.

-Some mobs can see invisible creatures, so invis doesn't work against them, but those same mobs can be sneaked past without being spotted. It's a lot of fun sneaking past beholders and assassinating them (they have low fort saves)

-Sneaking uses both hide and move silently, you need both to sneak effectively.

-Sneaking is currently borked in DDO. If a mob spots you while you are sneaking, they will follow your exact path pretty much forever. They do not act as they would if you were in plain sight (i.e. they don't come running straight at you attacking), but they follow your exact path attacking where they "think" you are. You can't lose them. You can, however, invis yourself and run past mobs. They will get that, "hey did I just hear something over here" movement, search the area, and then forget about you as you run past them. But if they catch you sneaking, they'll follow you forever. It's pretty ridiculous actually.

Someone made and posted a video of how mobs follow your exact path while sneaking, but I can't find it now. Here is a video of what is possible with sneaking, which inspired my own attempt at the playstyle.

From what I'm getting out of ddowiki it essentially gives you a +20 bonus to your hide skill. I'd take that to mean that if you're not actively hiding (using your hide ability) then it gives you a straight up 20 hide rating with the ability to move around at full speed.
I'd imagine that whatever your hide skill is would stack with the invisibility but only if you were actively hiding (using your ability). Your move silently skill would be handy to keep up as well.

This is a guide on using stealth for tactical play, like permadeath but it can still help you to understand how sneak works in DDO:

http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=317358

Just note to add bout if monsters see you and break your stealth. Running away behind the corner and going back to sneak will not help - the monster can still target you. A general tip is ot have the mob in your display orb and run away far enough that the mob is no longer visible in your display orb. Go back to sneak, and you can try to reapproach/bypass the monster a second time.

I wouldn't say one is better than the other. They both have their uses, and a lot of it depends on the playstyle you want to go for. If you want to zerg to the end of a quest and not fight anything, invis is better. If you want to ninja your way through a quest, sneak is better. Also, against mobs that can see invisibility, invis is useless so sneak is better in that situation. It all depends on the situation and your preference.

A 60 in hide and move silently is a safe number for sneaking through epic claw of vulkoor, though some people have reported doing with less.

Also, if you are going to go the sneak route, spot is an invaluable skill to have so you can see hidden mobs and don't bump into them.
