1 week ago (when no kobold pets were yet available in the ddo store) i was playing in a VON raid lvl 12-14.

Many players showed with pride their nice pets : durid wolf, the black panther, the small spider..
But suddently there came a player with a very unusual and unseen pet: a kobold full of crystals barrels on his back !!! O_o

i was surprised, but i was also busy to prepare myself to the role (i played with a barely 'in law' rogue) for VON5 .. that is difficult when you have a 11 rogue/2 fighter.
So we started the raid...

...the most wierd thing was to see that kobold running around here and there like an advanced hireling !!
doing things i never seen before.
Goin alone ahead his owner.. scouting .. using explosives (as far i remeber well) fighting.. bluffing enemies..

Ok ... how can it be that ?

please someone knows something about this ''advanced'' pet ?
someone can speak and give us information about that ?

most of all... how can it be that a feature not yet available for most of the players could be available for a particualry player ( a vip ? a special member ? somthin else i dunno ?)

or may be i am totally ignorant, may be i don't know there is a summoned creature like that for a class.. ?

PLEASE HELP i am loosing my mind on that pet !

There's a cookie that turns you into a kobold miner. Maybe it was a player doing that.

ETA: er, "gem". not a cookie. They say the second thing to go is your memory. I forget the first.

yeah.. i found that :

Kobold Gem of Disguising
Use this special gem to produce a magical effect that allows you to disguise yourself as a kobold worker! While disguised you appear to be carrying purple crystals and will automatically attract the notice of enemies in the area. The effect disappears if you attack. Useable in collection challenges.
25 TP

but the question is: those gem of Disguising can be used in raids too ?

Yep, the Gem of Kobold Disguising can be used in raids - often with hilarious results :)

It also has to do with a current buff display bug that lets this and the taken cookie persist when they shouldn't.

I thought they made it so it is now only useable in challenges?

There's a display bug that can make that not true, apparently. I haven't tried to replicate it.

I was a kobold for several hours. No way to change back short of logging out so I just rolled with it.

Did a few challenges (this is where it all started - the kobolds seemed inspired to work extra hard).

Ran the IQ series.

Went to Korthos - (This was lots of fun - handed out some goodies, too).

I don't think it is still possible after the recent fix.

Yeah, I don't know, I haven't been paying attention to my buff bar on my artificers.

Which is a shame, in a way, I'd like to see an all-taken shroud...maybe the healers should be kobolds.
