View Full Version : A very nice PUG!

Last night I was in a PUG in Eye of the Titan. I was on my fighter, and there was (I think) another fighter, a monk, an artificer, a favored soul, and a wizard.

We open up the clam at the end and the Eardweller was there.

The party leader (the artificer) said, "Everyone roll d100 for the eardweller." All six of us rolled on it.

I was pleasantly surprised that there was no loot drama to be found. Even though a LOT of parties I have been in would have immediately tried to establish who was allowed to roll on the Eardweller, and who was in what guild with whom (in order to accuse people of proxy rolling), and other such nonsense, the leader was (in my opinion) extremely fair about the whole thing by simply telling everyone to roll on it.

I rolled and got a 99. It is probably the only 90+ roll I will have all month, at least. I believe either the favored soul or the wizard had the next highest roll, and she was obviously disappointed that she didn't get it. But she didn't complain, or whine, or anything like that. In a cheerful voice (she sounded like she was just enjoying the game, which I applaud) she said something like, "Oh, well."

I told her I was just kidding and that I didn't need the eardweller on my fighter and that she could have it. She was quite appreciative.

With all the loot drama threads going I just wanted to mention this PUG that was clearly filled with proponents of the "your loot is your loot" philosophy, which resulted in everyone getting what they wanted and absolutely no loot drama, blacklisting, or hard feelings.

There should be always nor drama.
Honestly I hardly ever met with loot-drama, but probably because I play with friends almost all time.
Howeverm if I put item like Eardweller or e.g. torc on roll, I wouldnt accept no-mana characters rolling on it, as its not BTA but BTC.
Okay, you may need it next life.
But people who need it now are first.

Like in a vod yesretday. We are being fair with guildies and are putting things on roll for non-guildies too.
One guy with no real sneak-attack(paladin) rolled for tharnes. I did too.
He won.
So ok. Np. Maybehe needs TS or less threat,
Then my guildie got tharnes, and put it on roll.
I rolled and guy who just obtained goggles rolled also and won.
In this case goggles werent passed to him.
Its obvious he didnt need second the same BTC item...

It all comes down to benevolence.

How benevolent a person is directly affects the world they interact with.

As a denizen of that world, I therefore ask all that read this thread to be kind, polite, cheerful... wrapped into one word: benevolent (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/benevolent?s=t).

Yes, this means occasionally giving loot away (using your judgement rather than the d@mned dice).
