Just a suggestion...
If you post an LFM for an epic raid, and in the comments you write "looking for a tank and two healers", and when I hit the LFM with my rogue there are only two other people in it, I am assuming that you want a tank and two healers at some point, not that you are excluding all rogues.
Feel free to hit "decline", but kindly refrain from sending me a tell asking if I can read. If there were nine people in the raid and no tanks or healers, I would have skipped it because I'm not a tank or a healer. With only two other people in it, it doesn't seem rude or unreasonable for me to try to join.
Thank you.

well, you know what they say about assumptions :).
the poster of said lfm could have had 6-9 people already. It could have been a rogue or an
arti or whatever. Not everyone uses the "spots reserved" convention.
Best bet is to read the lfm and if you aren't listed don't click join.
If you choose to disregard what the lfm says, don't be surprised if you get a smart alec tell
as a response.

read his post and realize he said there were three people in the group. His assumption that the person would want the tank and 2 healers at some point is a good one, and just outright excluding everyone from your group until you get the 3 people you want is stupid.

That would probably be the same kind of guy who would advertise for an epic quest and have the level range be 18-20. I'm sure if you asked him if he knows how to set up an LFM he would flip out. :-)

The problem is, sometimes LFMs bug out. You may not have been seeing the entire party- it may have only actually had three spots still free.
Regardless, the leader quite overreacted, and ought to have put in 'only' in the LFM as well, had that been his intention. The fact that he still had rogues listed as an acceptable class in the LFM only emphasizes the matter.

I would be pleased if people dont take anyone else for a fool. If the lfm was clearly defined, one would not ask/invite if the lfm clearly excluded his class.

I can see and understand your point but personally I would never click that LFM, would send a tell first asking if he just wanted the designated roles typed or if he was looking for others as well, after all I know and understand that sometimes you start LFMing for the last spots and at the same time are inviting people in guild and channels. Also, I wouldn't be "upset" (for lack of a better word here to describe your feeling) or aggravated by it, if said person was rude I would add him to my "friends" list and move on; or I would just reply something funny and move on - either way its a bit too much to create a thread about it thou, no...?

read my post and realize that just because the people aren't in group currently doesn't mean that the leader
needs 9 more people. 6 of them could be off doing another quest or anything else where having them in
a raid group would be a problem.
neither his assumption nor your assumption are good ones.

OP states that the comments says need a tank and 2 healers, but doesn't mention whether or not the other classes were filtered out, or if the comment included the word ONLY. Could go one of two ways... if his class was filtered out or the comment said ONLY need a tank and 2 heals then yeah, I'd be the cheeky bastage that'd send a tell asking if the person could read. But if there's more than 3 spots left in that party AND those weren't the only classes highlighted, that lfm isn't clear - and didn't warrant a "can't you read?" response.
P.S. I've seen rogue tanks :) and there's no mention that the OP isn't a tank rogue hehe!

LoL I agree, but I think the complaint isn't so much about the lfm, but the comment "can't you read?" after clicking on the lfm.

It is my LFM so I decide if I react or how I react and when I react to join requests. ;PP
This statement is so awesome, makes everything so easy.^^
Yeah well, it feels stupid, I expected the same when reading a similar LFM but out of experience I would have sent a tell first to proof the leader being a lazy axe or really distinct about the group. Anyway, he might have wanted to shortman something and be searching for a key role.

Sounds like the guy was a jerk. It's very common practice on Ghallanda to type "Need kite, healer," on an LFM and in fact need and take more than that. It just emphasizes what the group leader thinks he needs above all else.
I think I'd ignore the comment. But if was rude enough (you didn't really quote him), I'd squelch him.
And yes, I wish people would learn to use the DECLINE button.

I just don't hit join for any LFM that has some kind of contradiction in it.
or anything else I do not like.
IMO, if you are asking for help to complete a quest, you will put up an LFM that welcomes as many people to join as possible.... and shows some level of competance that you know what the LFM actually says.

Mebbe the LFM was set so that the leader was lookin fer his key players first then fill all else after.
Who knows...personally... if it were me and he sent me a smart alec tell asking if I could read... my response woulda been something like "I r smrt I kin reed... me kno dum... " :D

Just wondering what raid it was? If it was DQ then maybe there was already a second group with six guys that were busy flagging.
But no matter what the guy was being a bit rude.

LOL! Awesome. I would have thought much the same.
When an LFM is mostly empty and they're looking for a role, I don't assume that they're ONLY going to let that role person in, I would assume that EVENTUALLY they'd want that role filled.
Good stuff! +1 for making me chuckle this morning.

It was epic Chronoscope. And hovering over the LFM showed three people in it when I tried to join.
It's hardly the end of the world, but I thought it was a bit rude.

Why do you care what other people do? Just ignore everything that happens. You'll be much happier.
Isn't this the same advice you gave in the loot thread?
His LFM is his LFM. You have no right questioning how he runs his LFM, and you can't make value judgements about his actions, no matter how they affect you.

Nah, Diyon, I'm illiterate :). That or I'm part of the illuminati...... illiterate/illuminati - looks the same to me :)
*Please note, illiteracy is a very real problem throughout the world - no illiterate people were harmed in this forum posting. And this poster denies all legal responsibilities in regards to implying that the illuminati are illiterate.
