View Full Version : Lorrik's Champion (healer DT set) - worth it?

Alihana just crunched three Tempest runes this afternoon. The result was the Lorikk's Sovereign rune. I was stunned, and I slotted it immediately. I had the good forture of winning the Lorikk's necklace in Alihana's first HoX.
Then, I went and did some heal testing (only Heal). I didn't notice any difference swapping in the necklace. Then, I realized it was because Alihana already has Superior Devotion VI item. I wasn't checking Mass Heal, which might have shown a difference.
So, I was somewhat disappointed that this hard-to-assemble set didn't stack, or provide addition benefit.
My question to the community is this: is the Lorikk's Champion worth it? Or, is the bonuses it provides better replicated through different gear?
I almost wonder if I've wasted 50 draconics and a lot of crunching for this. Perhaps a healer's DT armor would be better with just GFL and guards. Thoughts?

It might be worth it if you have all 3 pieces of the set, shield, necklace, DT armor.
When two items are equipped you will receive Improved Devotion VIII.
When three items are equipped you will receive Superior Devotion VIII.
Crystal Cove dagger will give you Superior Potency VII which would boost all of your level 7 spells and below.

Two equipment slots and a sov rune slot to boost one spell? My cleric didn't bother, the cove sup pot VII covers most stuff, and i use the amrath sup ardor VIII clicky if i think i need that Lv8 spell.

Yeah there's better options, even if you aren't up to beating Lord of Blades (where you can craft a Superior Devotion 9 shield).
Firstly there's clickies, which are just better in situations where you aren't at risk of dying but are borderline worthless if you dying is a real possibility.
The Epic Mask of Comedy is easier to get than the cleric Hound shield is, takes one item slot instead of three, and overall is just a better item. Even if you eventually get better, you'll still use the Mask for the clicky. It provides the same healing boosts as the 3piece Lorrik's set except for the boost to Mass Cure Critical Wounds, and also adds in Major Healing Lore which isn't spectacular but makes up for losing the MCCW buff.

Gyeahh! Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I guess I'm glad that I managed to nab it. But, yeah...three pieces for that bonus really seems like kind of a waste.
Thanks for the freedback.

On the flip side that set was awesome once.
A long time ago, before clickies were amped to 75%, before TOD rings had the option for 40% level 8 devotion, before the Amrath belts.

Yeah it was awesome. It still would be good at level 16 which is the ML on the DT armor.
The 3 piece set from Lords mark is awesome for level 11 items. It gives greater potency VI (40%) and +2 to hit and damage.

My cleric has stoneskin guard for his 3rd teir DT spot. That gives a great boost to survivability, to me it's better than lorriks. Of course my cleric is melee based so he takes more hits than a caster based cleric so something else might be a better option. I think lorrik's set is good for raids when you play healbot but besides that I wouldn't use it.

Oh and if you get the shield you might want to keep in your pack in case you need to shield block, it has a decent dr.
