During game play I have heard there are to be improvements incorporated to the Drow Race in Update 13...wondering if this is true and if anyone can provide details of what the improvements may be.

I think you mean the Summer expansion, which unlike what you may read/hear in-game is NOT U13.

It is not Update 13 since we are already at update 13. Believe this is going in the expansion.
I believe it was the Dervish, which "Tempest" will be granted for dark elves (Drows) as a racial prestige enhancement:
That's the tree related capstone. Your current Tier 3 is at 30 points (level 18 required).
Tempest, for instance, has the following "granted" abilities currently:

I don't know if it will have the following Dervish abilities as well (except Slashing blades)?
Dervish Dance: The power to be able to move, get a full attack, and move away not to receive a full attack in return is awesome.
Slashing blades: You can use scimitars as light weapons for all purposes. (from Tempest I)
Fast movement: Like the monk?
Elaborate Parry: I don't know if the +4 shield bonus cover this part.
A Thousand Cuts: Sounds like fun, eh?
0 AP and no feats.
You get these automatically for spending points in the Tempest Tree, taking things like Action Boost: Haste, Two Weapon Accuracy, Slashing Blades, and A Thousand Cuts.
Edit: We've taken a bunch of the Dervish abilities and merged them into the Tempest tree. They were similar enough in nature.

A bit too late for that seeing as u13 is already live.

Off topic, but will there be an U14 before MotU, or is MotU the only thing we have to look forward to right now?

No, U14 goes live in August after the expansion.

Um as far as i knew it was going to be U-14 then the big expansion.....but i could be wrong. Also i cant wait for the racial PrE's, especially drow already have a build made out for a longsword using one= 2monk/18fighter (SD3 plus Tempest3 equals awesomeness :) )
