challenge: is there anyway to gain 5 star from solo?

I'm sure that at least the first two Rushmore quests at least are soloable (although you have to be lucky to catch one of the bosses in the toilet in Moving targets!) to five stars, and at least one of the extraplanar palace quests.

I souldn't be surprised if a couple of others were possible too.

I was literally 3 seconds away from 6-starring Lava Caves: Time is Money on my (then) Ftr17.

Had the Fire Giant warlock to 2 or 3 pixels of HP when time was called.

I can personally testify these ones are 6 Star solo completable
-in approximate order of difficulty from easiest to hardest:
Time is Money
Buying Time
Behind the Door
Labour Shortage
Picture Portals
Circles of Power (At 20 minutes long with a lost star for a single Kobold death this one's high stakes, but not exactly diffficult.)
Moving Targets
Colossal Crystals (Hard)
Kobold Chaos (Hard)

All of these with Epic versions available should also be 5 starrable on CR 21. On CR 25 they are beyond any character I've had's abilities.

If you genuinely only want 5 stars and can't be bothered trying for 6 on the harder challenges due to Boss / Dragon / Fire Giant Warlock difficulty, then just run on something lower - save for Kobold Chaos which is MUCH more difficult on the lower CRs due to disproportionately reduced extractor HP relative to mob damage.

Impossible:
The Dragon's Hoard (Literally not enough monsters spawn to complete the star objective even if you clear the entire map)
Shortcuts (Running Time + Defending too many things at once + Maybe mathematically impossible EVEN in a group)
The Disruptor (Running Time + Defending too many things at once + Maybe mathematically impossible EVEN in a group)

Wow I was never able to get higher than 3 solo on any of them, even when I was running L4 on my L20.

I was trying Behind the Door yesterday solo and got to the last door with 5 min left and was missing only ONE crest to open it/kill last dude, therefore got 3-star only instead of 6 :) Could not farm it within the time left.

And Dragon's Hoard is likely having spawn rate depend on the group size with not enough trash to be killed for a solo player. We did 6-star it in 6-man group once.

Behind the Door and Picture Portals are fairly easy to solo 6 star on a favored soul/air savant WF sorc. There is a slight luck component to which crests drop, though you can easily mitigate this by using free daily tokens to open every loot cache along the way.

I would say sorc would be the easiest way to go for Picture Portals, I solo 6 starred it on my favoured soul but having Knock to open up those locked doors on the way to the thief's place would give a TON of extra crests.

Behind the Door is easy to solo 6 star by just about any class. I solo (well, solo plus hireling) 6 starred it at level 13 on a fighter/monk build. Total joke. If you're on a melee, make sure you kill the air elementals in addition to the water ones.

Just a word about missing Crests in Rushmore Mansion.

Its all about the path you are taking/killing mobs etc.

I`ve been soloing them from day 1 with my Barbarian and a hireling for DW and getting first place in the leaderboards on all epic levels.

There are many places where you can get that elusive extra crest chandeliers/freezer (dont bother with the puzzle) etc.

Sorc is definitely the fastest; you just have to remember to bring DW clickies or a hireling with mass DW if you are not warforged.

I unlocked the artificer. Took me about a week or so after I put my mind to it. 4 and 5 starred plenty of them. Back then I didn't realize you could 6 star and missed out on about a half dozen easy points. There are little tricks to these. I suggest you practice. That's really all it takes. Five(or 6) starring most of the non epic is pretty easy (outside of kobald island). You can run them at low levels. Its just a simple matter of getting good at a couple epics then. Take a hireling on many. They can help. Dont take any other party members unless they really know what they are doing. It will make it harder.

Melees have the advantage that they dont need to shrine. Caster have other advantages, like ddoor. A high UMD ranged is a happy mix. On all of my toons I run these at all different levels. Currently, I run moving pictures a lot on level 23. I get 4 or 5 bosses on average a run. Occasionally get 6 and all doors open.
