I need a melee to run at end game who isn't a rogue or a Monk/Ranger/AA.
Eventually, I've got a Paladin coming up I'll be able to use to tank (DM + Fang + healing amp) some content while he works on acquiring AC gear. In the meantime, I need a beater to stick at cap and farm a bit while I TR one of my FVS. My eventual plan is to have a ready-stable of workable and geared-enough toons to fill various roles for most epic questing and raiding, and I'm sorely lacking in a pure beater. Also, having run for a bit and collected gear on the other toons, I think I've got some moderate twink I can equip these role players with involving little investment shortly after they each cap, at least in terms of epic base gear from lower-tier epics or mid/high teens BTA gear.
So ... I've got an existing Monk / Fighter WF split (12th right now, 6 and 6) and I think I may focus on him a bit coming up. I'm kinda burned out on Mindsunder / DD runs and epic scrolls aren't dropping. I'll hit whatever raids my brain can manage, but the thought of romping through the Sands and GH a bit sounds appealing.
Anyway, considering a Monk 6 / Fighter 12 split (and 2 more somewhere obviously, but this is the core). Feat wise, I'm unsure what to take as I'm rolling in them ... but maybe I missed something. Race for this platform is WF (he's 12 already, so not going to toss that).
Feats (not in particular order):
Monk (3): Toughness, Stunning Fist, Dodge
Fighter (7): TxF, ITxF, GTxF, Improved Crit, Focus, Spec, Greater Spec
Normal (7): CE, Improved Trip, Stunning Blow, PA, Improved Sunder, FEAT, FEAT
So ... those last two feats is where I'm stuck - and as I'm 12th now with all the crazy XP bonuses on a first lifer, 15 and 18 don't seem so far away.
Love to hear some options on what to do for those other feats
Toughness - More is always good, though if I'm not tanking I don't think I need the overkill.
Hamstring - Will the Monk Ninja qualify? That'd be a nifty add if so.
Augment Summoning - Call me crazy, but I'd rather not wait for someone to do those hound runs and score my Tharrak wraps.
Sap - One more CC option sounds nice, but honestly I'm going to be swimming in tactics - do I need another?
Cleave / Great-Cleave - Do these even work with TWF handwraps, or does the engine divide by zero?
Improved Crit (slash) - I don't often use Kamas, but when I do, I prefer a better crit range. Actually though this has merit until DR-breaking handwraps and TOD rings land on this dude.
Brutal Throw - Hulk throw car
Skill Focus UMD - Hulk use scroll more betterer
Other defensive / save feats - Like toughness, but different ... Luck of Heroes, Lightning Reflexes, Iron Will, whatever
So, I know other folks have run similar splits - what did y'all pick?
