Just within the last few hours I got an email from DDO. I imagine many of you did.

In the email it talks about celebrating DDO's 6th b-day with a slice of cake.


I don't think they should send out an email about this cake days after the fact, since characters created now don't get cake. Just saying....

Well, since they sent it to their users, I think its likely you have at least one character malingering about somewhere. Its intended to get people to log in if they haven't recently.

Might have been better closer to release, but then they wouldn't have patched the cake bugs at that point..

Valid point, but if I'm coming back to a game after a long absense, I'd rather start with a fresh character. I'm sure many others feel the same.

Seriously! And I think the OP is misleading - It was DDO's birthday, and there was cake. And it was good. ;)

And everyone's invitation came a week late. Heck, I just came back to the game myself after finding out there was an expansion coming out. I get tons of emails from DDO, but the one email that actually woulda meant something came too late.

I know this sounds like a silly complaint, but this was a big announcement email about the expansion and the update leading up to the expansion. A lot of people are likely to show up and the cake will be gone :(

I suppose my feedback might have better served its purpose as feedback rather than a forum post, but it's done now.
