Gem of Kobold whatever, broken, cant repair

Title says it all. Durability 0, no vendor will repair it, is this WAI?

As far as I know, it is. I think you can bind it and apply an adamantine ritual to give it enough durability to be usable.

I've seen them from killing boss mobs inside the various challenges.

Got them from random stuff in challenges, not store. Most are to short a duration to be useful, but still, it is kinda annoying to be unable to have it repaired... if they can't be they should just disappear like destroyed arrows, potions, and scrolls.

From what I read on another forum, these gems work (i.e. grab aggro) in regular quests. In particular, using one in Part 4 and 5 of Shroud can be... interesting.

I do believe U13 will "Fix" this, and prevent it from happening.

Also, how does it affect normally-hostile kobolds? Can you use it in Repossession and just walk among kobolds without being noticed?

Yes yes it is. Sorry that it happened to you, better this then on a +3 or better tome like happened to a friend of mine. But if you really want to use it then you can fix it by attuning it and applying tier 1 adamantine ritual.

a while ago i kept a totally broken candy cane (which are usually non-repairable as well), to have sth funny when the linking battles start in any pug.
however, that useless, broken candy cane was repaired by the overpriced repair skellie in shroud, and is now as good as new, but useless for linking (luckily, i found sth more useful for the battles anyway, my UA ring RR WF, or just ignore the linking battle as i usually do)

maybe that skellie can repair your gem (and even more importantly, that other person's +3 tome) ?

Haha of coure my guild ponied up enough adamantine ore to perform the ritual. Butthead got to eat his tome and never ever ever carried a large chunk of paper into the end fight of enter the kobold on leet again. Lesson was learned.
