I have an exploiter build who is starting to get ready to step into easy epics and I was going to make him some DT robes as AC has no value, the question is what is best?
I was thinking Resistance & Salt on the first two tiers but undecided on last tier. Damage mitigation with either Earth or Radiance or take a guard like Disintegration.

1 with destruction last tier and one with a guard effect like disintegration/radiance on last is my advice if nobody in your team have a destruction armor then its almost unbalanced good if 3-4 others are using destruction then use the guard.
id suggest get destruction armor first then just settle for whatever guard you find dont find one of them vastly superior to the others.
getting your +tohit high enough is a basic first step before epic and this is 8str worth of +tohit

healing amp, destruction, melodic guard, haste guard maybe, resistance if you don't use fabricators set

Ahh forgot Destruction, a great option, but that rune seems to avoid me, will have to keep crunching & running SOS.
Till lady luck visits me? I already have the others.

This^ I wear this over my red dragon scale most of the time.
Earthen guard also procs a fair bit giving you some more dr/survivability. Enervation guard is quite a bit of dps if it procs on a full mob plus it helps casters/stunners. Earthgrab guard still procs a fair bit.

I've gotten SO lucky on my pulls, I got Destruction, Ash and Magic, the three I wanted, pretty much only running SoS once. I pulled a second Magic too, on the toon that already had destruction, so he'll be ready to TR some day!
But, those three are your answers. You'll probably not want Magic if you have some other way to get your self healing up, but Destruction and Ash are my other two favs.
Just wanted to brag about my luck with DT armor. I mean, I've gotten skunked in everything else. Freaking Torc/SoS/everything else I'll never get.

Fearsome does work on Epic mobs. I know some people hate Fearsome on principle, but I love it.
I have a pure ranger (AA) rather than exploiter, and my final DT armor is Fearsome / Wizardry VI / Radiant Guard.

Well,You can also take +30% heal amp,If you dont have prob with AC-The fort debuff aint very very very noticeable as the 30% is.In addition,You shall consider taking True Seeing as your tempest-Many tanks find it alot of handy.

I've always been fond of ooze guard at 3rd tier.. go forth my squelchy minons! :) also the sundering ooze effect stacks with regular destruction for lowering ac, but doesnt provide the fort debuff.

No such thing as 30% DT amp runes. If there was, Epic Gloves of the Claw would be less used.
I'd go:
Eldritch:
- +5 resist to saves if you don't have it anywhere else
- Otherwise Healing Amp 10%
Tempest:
- 20% Amp if you don't have it elsewhere
- Corrosive Salt Guard if you have 20% Amp on a TOD ring and don't use Calomel weapons much
- If you have 20% Amp and use Calomels, anything will do
Sovereign:
- Take the first good rune you get. Unless you decide not to chase any Epic armors, then work on Destruction.

IIRC, my monk's DT for epics is resistance +5/corrosive salt/earthgrab guard. Her normal DT is resistance +5/20% healing amp/heightened awareness 4, but since AC is worthless in epics, figured I might as well get some guards that'll do extra damage...or help me do extra damage.
Do keep in mind that the destruction rune doesn't work with handwraps (or didn't, the last time I checked). I know that doesn't apply in this case, but I'm just stating it for general reference.

For my main (was an exploiter, and depending on the enhancement pass may be again (I miss having a ranger. :( )), a +5 resist/20% healing amp/destruction dragontouched lasted me a long time. Now that I have my epic envenomed cloak, I'm swapping the +5 resist out with 10% healing amp...but the rest is still solid. Another one to make is identical, except with tharne's on the third tier...EVERY melee should have these dragontouched for certain times, eventually at least.

This is what i use on my warchanter. Gives great self-healing and makes it possible to hit the high AC mobs at endgame without switching off powerattack. I felt really good about this armor that this is the only one i bought an armor kit for (and i'm super stingy on TPs since i'm f2p).
