Threnal West Expedition gives me a choice between Mystical Goblet and a +2 to CON, spell resistance 15 ring (level 11 minimum). I take it that the ring is more valuable? How useful is spell resistance 15 anyways, at level 11?

Not very much.

Spell Resistance means that an enemy caster much bypass said resistance in order to cast certain spells on you. (Holds, Energy Drain, Daze, Finger, the like.) Which sounds good, in theory. In practice, not so great.

When you run a quest at level on Normal, the CR of the enemy mobs tends to be near, or the same as, it's caster level.

So, say you're running a level 11 quest on Normal, at level 11. That means to bypass your SR, an 11th level caster would have to roll a 5 or higher on a d20. That means that rolls 6-20, they'll still hit you. If you're running the same quest on Hard/Elite, the CR of the enemy goes up, as does their caster level... well, they might bypass your SR on each, and every, cast.

SR 15 @ level 1? Awesome. Level 11? Not so much.

Grab the Goblet - it'll be useful for your crafting.

Nah, it's threnal, it's worth more as a BTA base for crafting then as vendorthrash (even though BTA ring bases are exceptionally easy to get anyways, belts are a nightmare though)

Thank you for your responses.

I'll take the ring because a small chance of ignoring some magical attacks, especially those that target will saves, is better than no chance at all, for my assassin. It is an upgrade over a current ring, which has +2 to CON and no other mod.

Mystical Goblet is best. You'll hate running Threnal again when you are getting your crafting levels higher.

At level 11, running just on normal, that ring would only give you a 10-15% chance at best of blocking a spell. On higher difficulty levels, it won't do a thing. When you start running level 13-14 quests, it won't do anything at all. That ring is of VERY limited use.

Take the ring as a BtA crafting blank, or take the Goblet (they don't appear each time, and can be a royal pain to get if you need one for Heavy Fortification or Greater Chaotic Outsider Bane)

At level 11 you can without too much difficulty get a +4 con item. You can even get one from the Red Fens that is min level 9. That will do you a lot more good than +2 con 15 SR.

This and earlier feedback convinced me to pass on the ring. I took the goblet, and I'll just store it for now.

After Threnal will be Red Fens, so I might as well be a little more patient.

Thank you.
