So, after playing here for a while, I'm just about to reincarnate my first character. I've read the post in wiki, but still have a few questions.

1) Just want to be /sure/ I don't loose my gear. When I TR will it just appear in the speacial bank slot, or do I need to do anything?
2) It says all TR start at lvl one, but if you have VIP or paid for starting at lvl 4, can you start at 4?
3) Any other advice for TRing?
4) Any good TR (34 point) build for at human sorc? I'd like water savant, but also have a decent necro DC as I like those spells too.

so you read the wiki page but don't trust it . . . fair enough.
1. yes, you keep all your gear in a reincarnation cache. you don't need to do anything for first TR.
2. TRs start at level 1 regardless. you cannot start them at 4 (or 7 afaik when vet status ii comes out).
3. get a good assortment of twink gear ready for your character as you level.
4. hmmm, max cha, max con rest is up to you and what you want to do.
it's not rocket science, get your water savant prereqs and then necro and spell pen where you can.
no, no real build to follow from me because it isn't all that complicated.

take a screenshot of your characters face if you intend to look the same in your next life. you will have to remake your appearance from scratch, so having a screenshot to refer to will be a real help.

If you have eaten tomes in this life, wait to TR until after Update 13 drops.

Tomes will be kept across lives with the new Update.

I made a guide a while back it should have everything you need for TRing the first time. An easy read:

Here is (aptly named) The Great Big TR Checklist (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=355152). Enjoy.

Make a list of the feats that you want to have in your next life and then post it in a thread that you started. That way, when you hit level 12 and can't remember what you were going to take, you can go and search the forums for threads you created and find it.

3) Any other advice for TRing?

You better be VIP or have a lot of adventure packs, otherwise you'll be grinding lots of quests over and over again in order to get enough xp to level.

Yes, VIP.

You folks are a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for the help. Hopefully I'll have that TR shortly.

Really? Instead of writing it in Notepad or something and saving it on the desktop, or scribbling them out on a scrap piece of paper?

Okay.

Okay.

My primary reason for that suggestion is that I tend to lose scraps of paper and I play on more than one machine.

I love saving things on the internet (as long as it's something that I don't mind other people seeing - and I have no s3kr3t t3ch in my character builds. :) )

Don't rush it. Some raid loot has unique effects, and is vastly superior to regular named items. Getting a few 20's (reaver's and DQ, for example) under your belt to get some great items which will make your leveling much, much easier.

In particular, I'd craft a greensteel item with 45 HP, get a Torc, and possibly a Napkin.

Your myddo blog is just great for that. You can make private posts, and read and edit them from outside and inside the game.

I always plan my TR out fully before ever making the jump. My recommendation is to fully plan out your build down to stats, hit-points, saves, and endgame equipment. Then while you are 20 still farm all the gear you will need including the lower and end level gear that will help you.

Planning ahead prevents the oops moments I see a lot of players make in their first TR.

http://www.ddochargen.com/ can help immensely with that, as well as Ron's planner, however, I (Personally)hate the interface on the latter.
