View Full Version : 1st timer multiclass help needed

Hello all.

I am in desparate need of some advice on multi classing.

In our guild a few of us are taking part in a random race/ class build for fun and Ive ended up with

Drow

Barbarian
Ranger
Cleric

The only restriction is I must have at least 4 levels of each class at L20.


As ive never multi classed before I have no idea what levels/ feats / order to take etc.

I have access to all +2 tomes btw.


Any help would be very much appreciated indeed.

You have to take min 4 lvls in each?
That's a tough one.

Maybe Clr7/Brb6/Rgr6 at lvl 19. And I am not sure which one I would put the other lvl into.

Off the top of my head, either Clr8 or Rgr7.

Problem is I see no benefit from only 4 lvls in a class. I would either take less than 4 (which you are not allowed to do) or more than 4. (like 6 for a PRE)

Clr7 actually gives a lot of nice spells.
Rgr6 gives some nice feats and has been a part of very many builds.

I suppose you could do Rgr9/Clr7/Brb4. Would have evasion with that build.

Edit: after I wrote this I realised that my main build has only 4 lvls of rog in it...and here I said 4 lvls gave no benefit...lol.
(ask them if you can roll up a Rgr/Rog/Wiz instead. :cool: )

I am not sure how well this build would do as the 4 levels of each is a bit off from what I would think would be viable.

You would duel wield short swords or rapiers, while you kept the aura going to help mitigate damage while in the scrum. You should have close to 600 hp I think when all is said and done and about 1200 sp allowing you to be a decent back up healer that can laydown a blade barrier or cast Divine Punishment. I would forget about most of the other spells though as you would not have the DC to pull them off. But, even at 50% damage a blade barrier is nice and the Divine Punishment is no save and can still do decent daamage with a superior potency VI item or Superior Brilliance V clicky.

My first instinct is rgr 6 / barb 6 / cleric 8; basically a melee build with better buffs & healing. The biggest issue, I suspect, would be lack of feats; in fact I'd be tempted to suggest skipping Tempest (too expensive) to pick up Toughness, IC Pierce (use rapiers), Power Atk, Cleave, GTWF, Emp Heal, and Maximize (mostly to squeeze out all you can from bursts).

It's too bad you didn't draw bard instead of cleric; then you could've done bard 8 / WC I - that might've been a nice combo.

Thank you for the advice and ideas.

I certainly will have a tough time with him i guess.

I doubt i'll ever PuG with him which is probably just as well as Id likely be booted from the server for being gimped too far
