give accounts that log onto Lammania during "testing" periods free, one-off cosmetics.

each one would have to be unique to its own period, to keep ppl comingback each time Lam goes up

things like:

Unique Hair styles

Unique Hair Dyes

Rare Armor Kits (that can be removed/re-applied)

Unique Cosmetic Helms

Unique Cosmetic Pets (after U13)

to qualify you would have to spend a certain number of hours on Lama-land during the pre-release period, posibly with more/better rewards the longer you participated

i for one would definitely participate in the U13 pre-release if i knew i'd be getting a unique, free cosmetic pet for my live account that i couldnt get any other way

its a test server for testing new content and there are enough people who use it on every new update that we usually know 90% of new loot and have guides for the quests

also you get free lama land TP so you can already test your new hair styles

hmmm.

first of all, several Devs have stated in the past they'd like to get more ppl on Lam to properly test things out.

second, i'm not talking about "testing" new store items. i'm talking about NEW, unique cosmetic stuff only available (on your LIVE SERVER account) from participating in Lammania Pre-releases

I think more then enough content comes and goes through lam while still in serious duress. Expecially things proven to be blatantly ignored.

I don't see any reason to offer any deterrent from that. If you really wanted to add a ive been here feature, implement it in the number of bugs found then bring up the chain of command if it was followed through.

I don't think numbers are a problem for lam especially around update time. The regular servers usually empty out. the problem is finding what's wrong and fixing the **** thing. It is the exact purpose of the server and yet fails to do it's job through followup. When error after error comes up update after update and declared by all "we knew but we didn't fix it" I feel theirs a problem in the chain. And it doesn't start at the beginning.

from something you said, it appears you dont go on lam much

population on lam during a pre-release never even approaches 1/10th of live servers

how are they supposed to test things like how the code holds up to server load without actual live server numbers?

They could give us a cosmetic llama hat for live! I hear they are all the rage now!

On a more serious note what always deterred me and my friends was the fact it was such a big download . I ended up downloading it and have had some fun on the preview sever during the dev events and usually every time a update gets released. But for a lot of my fiends the size of the download is what seems to keep em from downloading it. Some have slow net. Others have bandwidth caps and some just do not want to wait. Not sure if a free cosmetic would bring them around to lamaland. Would not hurt to try though. I would not say no to a free cosmetic piece. Mind you i will be over there anyway when update hits regardless to check out all the goodies and bring back some news and drama for my friends..!

Developers themselves have said it is a preview server not test server, nothing has changed about that hasnt it?

Aka you get to try things out, but there is no obligation to notify of bugs or for them to acknowledge said reports.

Also, most of the time bugs and exploits are reported and still make it to live.

I agree with you and I think the OP has the wrong Idea about the Lam server, I have always been under the impression its a preview not a tester.

Any post from the devs about this?

If Tubs would pull their thumb out and actually act upon information they are given it might make lam worth visiting again.

The devs have stated that they would like Lamannia to become more than a preview server. I'm sure as MotU gets closer we will hear more about that.

Ive never seen them state that. you got a link?

I hope it is the case, this game NEEDS more proof testing before live, it would do the world of good.

- Lamannia has already been trending towards earlier builds - ugliness and all; effectively it's becoming a test server, not a preview server. If everything goes as planned you get a chance to play & comment before it's too late to change.

Ahhh. okaaay. Well thats great news. And enough for me to want to go back on there.

Id do it just for improvments to the live game tbh and I suspect many others feel the same. people used to use lamannia but then realised theres really not much point except to get a look into any new raids for tactics etc.

Nothing would get me to play on Lam it feels as if I would be wasting my time I have limited play time and having that time just go poof everyonce in a while is disheartening and the fact we wouldnt be really testing and just previewing makes it even worse

I am a regular when Llama-land is up, but I have no interest in cosmetics. That wouldn't get me to play more at all.

I think it would be great if TP from favor earned transferred. It would require people to at least grind some quests, and in the process hopefully stumble across more issues. I believe this would get around the legal issue of just giving us TP for playing/testing content.

The Maj has also stated that he is pushing for something more than just the generic preview server we have now.

I may be wrong but I was under the impression that Lam was for learning about the upcoming update and not for us to test it for bugs

I dont care what they do to get us to play in Lammania.

I do not want to see content before it is on the live servers. Period.

LoL they give 2,000 TP a day.. One way to have more people.. IS STOP Wiping the server. Why waste time there when the wipe it Clean every time?? Then they make guilds level 100 toons level 20 max out Crafting levels.. For What to waste peoples time. Best thing they could do is Hire Real QA staff. Dump Mournlands and Lammy. Nothing but a waste of Time and Turbines money.. And this same topic has been on the Lammy forums for a couple months has No place here, In general forums.. But as always jst my take on things..

Sleeps :D :) :D

Maybe I should have been more specific. The TP earned from favor on Lamannia goes to live. As in, people can grind Lamannia just like any other new server for those bonus TP. If anything it would get the population up, for a while.

Bah that's just the curtain to hide behind. A server to have a look see at stuff before live and in no way is data gathered from loads, numbers situations. pfft ya I don't think so. And if it wasn't someone needs some coffe to get their management brain going.

Course as it is classified as a fun fun server on paper, hopefuls from others notwithstanding (otherwise gnomes would have overrun the place years ago) the point is kind of mute. Technically their is no reason to bug report/test on lam other then to be there, soak up the freebee's and then ditch back to live later.

If it was/is being used as a test server then the point is still mute. As shown before finding a bug isn't the problem. They're found day after day. Including the ones that spawn 47 threads in a days time screaming for exploit bans. It's taking that information and fixing em that's the problem. And unless they start handing over server tasks to our fine and upstanding denizens of this game, I think it falls quite a ways from player hands.

My comment was to the OP sorry if you misunderstood .. Sad but the reality of it Nothing But Bugs make it to Live from Lammy.. I am one that used to go on it a lot but no real need to now..
Again Sorry for the misunderstanding
